Shakethedisease wrote: »Everything else and endless media speculations about MP numbers and who will 'allow' this or that when they become PM in Westminster is just noise and build up to it. Sturgeon will never accept that Westminster has a veto anyway, and at the moment she's fully backed up in that by Scots voting the SNP in above all the other parties. It'll be an interesting few months that's for sure.
Scottish Westminster voting intention:
SNP: 40% (+1)
CON: 28% (+7)
LAB: 20% (+1)
LDEM: 11% (-2)
BREX: <1% (-5)

So that's 60% for unionist parties and 40% for independence supporting parties. The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.0 -

Brexit is being enacted despite the consequences on a 52/48 split, so I dont think it's fair to complain about a 60/40 split, no?
Who's complaining? If you read my post correctly, you would see that I was pointing out that those voting for Unionist parties were in the majority - by a long way. Sorry if that doesn’t fit in with the SNP narrative. The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.0 -

You mean 'some' voters in Scotland obviously?
Most Scots view their representation at Westminster as wholly comparable with their kith and kin in the rest of the UK.
Some may even think that Scotland by population is perhaps over-represented with the amount of MP's Scotland sends south.
Only rabid grievance driven NATS think that Scotland should get its way whatever the circumstance without voting for independence first.
Scotland enjoys a massive Union dividend, most Scots realise that.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
Just as an aside.
Why do Nats always seem to talk for the whole of Scotland and for all Scots?
It really is a thing.
BTW. Thank you to mollycat, for reminding some of us of that fact. Us English forget sometimes.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

The message the SNP is being hammering home this GE is that it's Scotland's Parliament/Scottish People who will decide. Not those in Westminster. Sturgeon repeats it every single chance she gets and she means it too.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

We left that behind 5 years ago. Even more are now coming round to the same conclusions due to recent Westminster governance and the obvious and open distain Scottish MP's are treated with. MP's it should be remembered who are there due to 10's of thousands of Scottish voters.. not by magic. Any Scottish 'dividend' is increasingly not worth putting up with due to the sheer amount of political distain for Scottish MPs on display.
By Scottish MP’s you mean SNP MP’s of course?
You Guys can’t help yourselves!“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Is this the basis on which Scottish people are going to be asked to put their wellbeing, (financial and otherwise) at risk for?
Some imaginary "disdain" perpetrated against our WM representatives?
