This is hilarious because you will accept that on zero evidence but refuse point-blank to even consider the same regarding Brexit where many say it won't even take years to see the benefit.
Because Brexit will only make us worse off for fictional gain. Scottish Independence let's us avoid the damage of Brexit which is justification enough on it's own, but we also regain genuine control.0 -
I can well imagine that in a sheltered Scottish hidey-hole that would be very true.
In English cities it is certainly not so.
You might also like to consider that medical terminology is a little more difficult to grasp than basic English.
There's about 98,000 somali born in the UK, so it's maybe not the best example. I dont have figures for how many Somalis speak English or where they are distributed. I dont dispute that medical English is more complicated than buying groceries.
I guess the main point I'm asking Thrug to clarify is how many translators has his NHS trust actually hired and if they are on payroll or contract. His trust could have hired 137 full time translators, or they may have just made a deal with a translation agency which has the capacity to do 137 languages.
He's (deliberately) making it sound like the NHS is being choked by foreigners, even though he admits they are mostly non-EU.0 -
Support for Indy up over 50%! Proud Scots can feel the wind of freedom blowing up them!0

They'd be mad to become independent. It would utterly cripple the Scottish economy.
Making the UK's withdrawal from the EU look like a tea party l.0 -

Goodbye Scottish NHS ( so much better than its 3 other counterparts ) in a UK/US trade deal. Boris will simply rewrite the Scotland Act to suit. And that goes for anything currently devolved which might prove problematic. It's Independence or goodbye Holyrood. Many waking up to this lately. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

So the only hope for Indy is opportunistic exploitation of current political situation; which is temporaray.
No attempt, (indeed openly admitting no attempt), to win any logical, ideological, or financial argument that permanent independence will be a good thing.
You nationalist really don't give a stuff about the future wellbeing of Scotland or the Scottish people do you?0 -
We need to eject Scawtlun ASAFP. Support for independence is heavily correlated to the oil price - Nats think they will make money out of it. It's all about the money. If the oil price heads south so will support for independence.
We need a referendum in England now on expelling Scawtlun from the union.0
