I agree with you on this but what about the border with England if a newly independent Scotland joins the EU?
I guess if not having a hard border is important to Scots voters they'll decide to stay in EFTA/EEA rather than fully join the EU. Bear in mind that England and Wales will have far more to worry about what with having another 27 hard borders to contend with. The border is a matter for after independence, not a reason not to vote for it. The border comes under the heading I mentioned above as "fear, threats and doom'. It's just about all that's left in the unionist playbook. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

This short transition period would allow a GE whereby Scottish political parties can either advocate staying that way or applying to join the EU as a fully fledged member. Either Scotland gets the Norway version or full EU membership. The border with England and the consequences of either choice will be decided upon then.

Ah so E&W will have to worry about hard borders with the rest of the EU but not Scotland.
How does that work?0 -

How does that work?
I'm not worried about a border between Scotland and former UK (fUK)
We need to be prepared to accept refugee businesses that still want access to the EU single market as well as open minded people who want to live in a fairer more progressive country.baldly going on...0 -
Aaah, now I can see why you are so predudiced and misinformed....
What's life like in that WM hating echo chamber?0 -

At least we'd have somewhere to spend our left over holiday Euro's.0 -
Shakethedisease wrote: »Because Scotland would still be in the Single Market ? England/Wales won't so will have all hard borders with just about everyone. EFTA means Scotland could do a separate trade deal with England/Wales. Being fully in the EU means Scotland would have the same border the EU does.
Well that’s brilliant.
Why has nobody mentioned this before???? I think you should crack on and have that vote ASAP.0 -
Who was the First Minister who said up front and publicly 'Judge me on education'? She's failed so why has she not resigned...is she not a woman of her word?0
