Do we really need to spend a lot of time going over once again why England needs Scotland a lot less than Scotland needs England?

people in Scotland often get asked about how we will be able to afford to go indy, we talk about fishing, tourism, food, water, electricity, space, second biggest finance place, research, whisky and sometimes even mention the dreaded cursed oil... all of which only has to support 5.5 million

Can u let me know what England has? just out of curiosity, just to keep supporting how many is it 58 million people ?

it might be handy just to see who needs who more ;)

They make laws which affect us but we have essentially no say in. Our representatives are completely ignored by Parliament (the Tories have recently taken to walking out when they start speaking) and are held in open contempt by the current government with even the previous Secretary of State for Scotland calling it a region of the UK rather than a country in it's own right, and the last few PM's talking about taking back what devolved control Scotland has.

The Scottish Parliament puts a lot of effort into cushioning it's citizens from Westminster.

Those are real problems unlike the Brexiteer claim that we're beingdictated to by Brussels, because at least we have a say in Brussels.

Does that sound like an equal partner?

Yeah, I can understand you'd see that. Sturgeon is shown a lot complaining but in reality she's completely ignored beyond having a reputation in England for being anti-English.

Yeah, imagine wanting to take back control. Crazy, eh?

So that'll be no examples of English over-lordship of Scotland then?

Not if you plan to ignore them, but I'm well familiar with that approach of yours by now so I'm not going to bother.

Best way to get Scottish Independence is it open up that referendum to the whole of the UK.

The people who voted in the Scottish referendum seem to have trusted that the UK would be clever enough to make a right choice in a UK-wide referendum.

Should they have been more careful what they wished for?;)

To get an indication of how a slighted rUK (England) would react to an newly independent Scotland, you only have to listen to the average English persons attitude to SNP run Scotland now. The political capital in adopting a hard line approach to Scotland in negotiations would be massive.
That wouldn’t bother the average rabid Nat, but I think it would the average Scottish citizen anxious to keep relations cordial with the Auld Enemy.
As an example, in that what well known Hampshire marginal of Eastleigh, candidates in any subsequent GE would be falling over themselves to promise the relocation of RN shipbuilding to Portsmouth.
Does anyone know the amount of people on the Clyde employed directly or indirectly as a result of the Royal Navy’s presence?

Or maybe we could have some kind of referendum on whether YOU get to keep your Bitish citizenship??

    Don't fancy that? Thought not.

I've never met you and therefore have no interest/motivation in influencing what kind of life you lead; please afford me (and the millions of pro-British Scots) the same courtesy.

Compare this to the line towards Eire, the UK frequently treated Eire with disdain and still does sometimes.
Eire is a full EU member and the EU have Eire's back.
When Scotland is independent the UK will be dealing with a Scotland as part of the EU.

The answer is a lot less than there should be- remeber the promies made (over 20 frigates, now 3) prior to the 2014 indy ref.
Scotland is a sea facing nation and we need new ferries (see Fergusons shipyard), new fishery partol vessels and navy ships.
We can build these in Scotland
    baldly going on...

How will these be paid for?

    Government subsidy?

Where will a fictional Scottish government get the money?

See, once you even scratch the surface of any of these madcap ideas it's obvious.......not enough money to educate, to heal the sick, to look after the vulnerable and that's before we address any deficits as a sea faring* nation.
