Herzlos, please do not draw conclusions about English attitudes towards Scotland based on comments made by an extreme English Nationalist on an internet forum.

Oh, I've spent enough time in Englandshire to know that it's not a universal animosity. There does seem to be a deep dislike for Sturgeon in Southern England because of media bias (she's always demanding special attention, apparently).

I've no doubt we'd have a decent relationship going forward once they stopped dummy spitting and expect some trade deal hardball will be a given (though the 1:10 ratio will become a 10:1 ratio pretty quickly).

Not restricted to SE, there is a fair bit up here outside the SNP worshippers ;)

It will come from the Scottish tax payer - who will no longer be funding HS2

Good point. HS2 is expected to cost Scotland somewhere between £3.6bn and £7bn, but I saw some case about England having to reimburse Scotland since it doesn't actually benefit us.

I wouldn't mind paying some share if we were talking about connecting Glasgow to London faster, but we're never going to see any of that improvement coming North of the border.

I like you too, but honestly, in my daily dealings with English people, I never ever experienced the levels of animosity towards the Scots you describe on here. No trolling intended.

Perhaps the effects of endemic English fiscal deprivation are not felt on the mean streets of Englefield Green. :)

    You think so?
Among the English regions, public spending per person was lowest in the South East at £8,297

Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Yeah, I know that London and the SE pays for everyone else, but then again median incomes are higher. Englefield Green is hardly Grimethorpe or Easington. :)

Oh jolly well done - you've just provided a marvelous reason for why the SE has such anti-Sturgeon feeling! :T

    What anti-Sturgeon feeling?
Wales and N.I. also get way above UK average.
You mean there's an anti-Wales and anti-N.I. feeling in the SE also?

    No mayo.
There’s only anti Sturgeon feeling because she’s constantly playing the grievance card.
You’re right to flag up that the only constituent nation in our Union in fiscal surplus is England though. :)

Exactly, as has already been said.
Thank you for again bringing it to their attention.
