But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

So Scotland is going to adopt the Euro on the 1st November 2019?
Who knew? Has anybody told the banks, business, or indeed anyone at all in Scotland?0 -

Any hypothetically independent Scotland is perfectly entitled to use the Euro if it wants, Or the US dollar, Japanese yen, whatever, Although I understand that the current SNP plan is to use GBP. Makes sense, there will be a large GBP denominated debt; £150 bn +. FX differences can be a killer,0 -
I do find it quite funny the Tory leavers on here fervently predicting Scotland's complete doom if they become independent. But ignoring exactly their own arguments over on the Brexit threads.
Scotland will be in much better shape out of the UK but part of the EU than England will be on its own.0 -

Disgree.....but it's a moot point, Scotland wont be in the EU!
Just as well, 10 minutes down the road it would be Brussels not Westminster getting blamed for Scotland's stagnant economy, dependancy culture and anything else the grudge brigade can think up.
Post Brexit is not going to be pretty but it's going to be nothing compared to the poverty/austerity independence would bring.0 -

Once again, Scottish Nationalists, not "the Scots".
You're reading the views of a handfull of individuals on an internet forum and attributing their views to a whole nation.
These people are SNP members keeping a dying ideology alive, the majority of people don't care.
I realise that you have a grieveance about the good deal that Scotland gets from the union, I would share your view.
If what you are really trying to say is that you wish rUK was free of Scotland at least be upfront about it rather than implying the majority of your fellow Uk citizens north of the border are unhappy and want to leave.0 -

They can USE the euro, but they cannot join the Euro without first having their own stable currency. Any country joining the eu now have to join the euro when they meet the conditions. If they did not adopt their own currency they may well be seen as not even trying. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

What I want is for the government of Scotland to stop blaming everything on the rUK. I also find it distinctly unfair that they keep interfering in our business. Things like they voted down the idea that English shops should be allowed to open longer on a Sunday because the few Scottish shops that were in areas close to the border might lose a little trade if English shops could open at the same times as the Scottish ones. Oh, and something about the "premium pay" the Scottish shop workers get for Sundays.
Stop interfering in our government (as in English rather than UK) business or let us interfere in yours and I will be happy. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Not confusing Nats with those Scots fully invested in our Union is important as mollycat says. That said, I think there is an almost complete blind spot toward the now totally legitimate English grievance on funding and democratic representation, and if it’s not sorted, our Union will end.
Brexit IMO was the opening salvo in the English rebellion against the political status quo. It won’t end there.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0
