Or do you expect all political parties to gain 50% of the vote before taking office in Westminster oe elsewhere in order to enact the policies it was voted in on ?The barrier to another indyref is Westminster and the current Tory party. Holyrood has already voted and passed the primary legislation to enact another independence referendum. The Scottish electorate have spoken via their elected representatives both in Edinburgh and in Westminster. Many so blinded by the fact it's the SNP cannot see the wood for the trees. The SNP didn't get where they are by magic.
As you no doubt know, there’s a world of difference between a manifesto promise to enact a policy like free tuition fees which can be reversed five years later by someone else, and one where a referendum for independence is promised. Not for nothing did Salmond declare that referendums of that nature should come at generational intervals.
You admit yourself that the SNP for party management reasons has to keep talk of referendums live, but for all your talk of the nasty English Tories it’s still your fellow Scots that need to be convinced of the timing for the next indyref.
Not for the first time you and the SNP seem incapable of factoring in the other half of Scotland’s wishes.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Saw on Reddit the other day there are more of these going out.. almost like they expect a General Election soon. You can step down now. You were wrong and these leaflets touting 'Ruth Davidson's Candidate' 1) Do exist and 2 ) Have been previously and are currently being distributed.
It's amusing and comes across as a little desperate to see them trying to downplay their own party but there you go. Tory no more.. and sounding increasingly like an advert for an old 70's or 80's BBC game show.Even die hard unionist columnists are starting to mull over the Scottish Tories having to disown the UK party. They're terrified that Boris will be installed as leader.https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/opinion/jenny-hjul/882475/jenny-hjul-the-time-may-have-come-for-the-conservatives-in-scotland-to-break-free-of-their-london-base/
Both those leaflets contain the words 'Scottish Conservative' in the header. Why do continually feel the need to not be truthful?0 -
Tbf being Unionist is the only selling point the Tories have up there. I can't imagine what else they would say.
But they're as dreadful now as they were in the last election so I can't see what Shakey thinks will change. Oh yeah the polls, they should be on 11 million percent support for Independence now if they've been following the trajectory she's been predicting since before the last referendum was announced.
Never seems to result in a win at an actual ballot though.0 -

Didn't Shakey once type 'polls schmolls' or something similar despite relying on them before and since?0 -

How do you know what Scotland's 'wishes' are Tromking ? YouGov ? Panelbase perhaps ? Get back to me when you have a far better argument to put forward. Something other than the fact you seem to think paid polling company results outweigh actual votes, mandates and parliaments. Thanks. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Was there not an SNP manifesto promise re. freezing Council Tax until 20-21? What happened?0

What has happened re. the SNP pledge to look at Council Tax before the 2007 election. Was it not in their manifesto to freeze any rises until 20-21.? What happened?0
