No . This is the first thread I've ever started on this forum. I have no idea why this guy keeps trolling it asking me why Iol.

    Anyway ! Times YouGov poll tomorrow :- YES @ 49 % NO 51% Enjoy peeps x

Or in other words, a poll of 500 people shows Yes still set to lose a referendum that won't happen, because they just lost the last one.

After the Brexit debacle. Be interesting to see how people view Scotland being able to decouple itself from England.

Did you or did you not start this thread when another one on the very same topic (which you contributed to from memory) already existed Y/N?

Hmmmm it's an interesting theory you have there. But it bears little in the way of reality apart from in panicky Scottish Tory circles and in the heavily biased media.
Catalonia is part of Spain. Scotland is in a Union with England/rUK. There's a subtle but very, very important difference there. Sadly I don't think you're intelligent enough to see it though.

There'll be a vote soon, for all the reasons I've outlined to you and anyone else reading. And all this nonsense about Scotland = Catalonia will die a death thankfully. There's absolutely no comparison in Spain/Catalonia with 1707 I'm afraid.

Questioning other peoples intelligence (who are contributing to your thread) when your own intelligence is so very limited does you no favours. You just look increasingly stupid.

Scotland has no constitutional recourse to unilaterally exit the UK. It has (far too many) MPs in the UK parliament, and a devolved regional government which has power over some things and not over others. If the UK parliament (of which Scottish MPs are a part) approves secession then Scotland could be set up as a "new" country.

I don't think the failure to understand this is really helping Nats win their cause. Whether Shakey et al like it or not, they are British legally, especially the moment they step outside the UK (and I know how angry ex-pat Scots overseas can get over this).

I'm not personally averse to Scotland being independent. I don't see many values I consider appealing in the braying right-wing public school boy privilege England keeps electing to run the UK. I would like to be independent from them too.

I just don't really like any of the Scottish nationalists I have met in person. They seem to be angry, bitter, and if they've had a few drinks, rather scary to be around if you are English. And I don't think they should just have endless referendums after the one they had a few years ago, which was free, fair, and they agreed to stick to, just because they don't like the result of the last one.

The irony of course is that if only we English had a Scottish size slice of the U.K. pie that the guilt-ridden right wing public school boys bung Scotland’s way.
Most switched on Scots realise that their current financial settlement with the U.K. Treasury is extremely generous and is designed to keep Scotland within the Union.
If the Union is letting anyone down it’s provincial England.

They aren't guilt ridden. They'd still be plundering Africa and the Subcontinent if they were able. Scotland gets more money than the rest of the UK to try and keep them quiet about the fact that they were colonised, because the job of the Conservatives is to try and preserve Britain's checkered past in aspic. India might have given us the middle finger but they aren't about to let bits of the British Isles get away.

The same with this fantasy that Scotland is a separate country that has led to the UK never being a real one and a lot of English nationalism.

The only reason the rest of the world lets Scotland and Wales have separate teams at sporting competitions is because they feel sorry for them about being invaded by us, and the fact that they're rubbish so will never win any way.
