The First Minister is in it for the long game..... now is NEARLY the time, it's a waiting game.
Nicola Sturgeon doesn't want independence. Few of them do. They want to campaign for independence. Endlessly.0 -
Sturgeon shan't be allowed another vote by the government so therefore there won't be one. She can do a Catalunya and commandeer polling stations and wotnot and have some kind of dodgy vote without any national electoral oversight. It'll be boycotted by half the people who are unionists and the people who do try and go to vote No will complain about being intimidated by swivel eyed woad covered fanatics.
No one will recognise the outcome and it will achieve nothing other than make Scotland look very silly indeed.
Hmmmm it's an interesting theory you have there. But it bears little in the way of reality apart from in panicky Scottish Tory circles and in the heavily biased media.
Catalonia is part of Spain. Scotland is in a Union with England/rUK. There's a subtle but very, very important difference there. Sadly I don't think you're intelligent enough to see it though.
There'll be a vote soon, for all the reasons I've outlined to you and anyone else reading. And all this nonsense about Scotland = Catalonia will die a death thankfully. There's absolutely no comparison in Spain/Catalonia with 1707 I'm afraid. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

I said the death of the SNP. Not independence. As far as I can read it for the last 6 months or so.. if there are no moves afoot to even attempt to give Scottish voters a choice/options over Brexit/staying or leaving a Brexit UK. Then the SNP will be faced with a new single issue party pushing Scottish independence ( like the Brexit party kinda ).
Will take seats off them, but will increase overall indy majorities of seats in both UK and Scottish GE's. The death of the SNP - if there isn't a definitive plan put forward before the next elections - isn't due to lack of indy support. It's because there'll be too much of it to cater much longer to a gradualist/softly softly approach. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

‘In fact, most of the Scottish Nationalists I have met have been tools.’ In terms of West of Scotland slang? Nice wordplay, I laughed aloud when I read this. The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don't know anything about.

Well, if being 100% wrong about the outcomes of 100% of Scottish Independence referendums is a sign of intelligence, Shakey, then your MENSA certificate is on the way!

Sturgeon calls for indyref 2 before 2021, although won't say exactly when and implores her party to build support for it. Hardly a clarion call from someone convinced of victory it has to be said.
Smacks of her trying to assuage her rabid core vote as Shakey says.
Expect the SNP to plummet in the polls, as I sense the wider appetite for this is zero.

Trust the SNP? I don't think so!

On the make and on the take, the story of the Nationalist politician.
I won't even talk about what has happened to the Rev in court. It's a long time since his award winning editorial on sprites in the 63rd Edition of Amiga Power.0
