Dissolving the Union between Scotland and England ( equal signatories ) is a whole different legal kettle of fish from a section 30 sanctioned referendum which we all know will never be granted. Perhaps there will be no choice in the end but to pursue the whole thing back to front from the last time. The starting point being the Treaty itself rather than hanging about waiting for Theresa.
Is just an aside but you can see the phrase and the legalities being discussed more and more via blogs and social media etc lately. Is a whole different and interesting perspective.
Translates as via Westminster SNP MPs, obstruct, whinge, disrupt, play the grudge card to the extreme, and misrepresent the views of the vast majority of Scots to the extent that the wider rUK electorate adopt the view of "better off without them".
Manipulative, cowardly politics; but what else can the Indy brigade do?
Argue a logical, rational case for an independent Scotland that would persuade more than 50% of the electorate to push the economic self destruct button?
That's mission possible! (and they know it)
ps The only thing that Brexit is focusing most Scot's minds on is the absolute necessity to avoid referenda of any size, shape or colour in the future.0 -
over 5,000 new members joined in the last 24 hours ...
Let me see, the SNP want indyref2, so they pull a stunt in parliament, and in the immediate aftermath, 5000 people join the party. Just like the same x thousands who joined the Labour party when they lost the last GE. Seems to be a fashion amongst political parties these days to claim x number joined the ranks when things don't go the way they want.
You can fool some of the people some of the time, but most weren't born last night at 11.38pm.0 -

I wouldn't disbelieve it for one moment. Life is cyclical. Politics akin to an hourglass. You get one shot in power then your time is over.............
If the UK is struggling with the demands of Brexit. What hope does Scotland have with dissolving the Union. One suspects that when push comes to shove there'll be a severe shortage of qualified talent. To actually put together a coherent workable plan.0 -

I know someone who's just joined the SNP, and yes, he is a bit paranoid and thinks other people are always plotting against him0 -

They seem to be in 2 camps Indy ref 2 apap (All under one banner, Ex Labour voters etc)
Indy Ref 2 when they can be sure of a win (Old SNP supporters) Nicola Sturgeon is playing the long game and she is not as popular as she once was - The polls are saying that she could very well loose the pro Indy majority in Hollyrood http://www.thenational.scot/news/16296528.Poll_suggests_Holyrood_pro-indy_majority_will_be_lost/
Alex Salmond is a gambler - I think that there may be a play for the leadership of the SNPTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -

Quick please any rabid seperatists please explain this Volte Face.Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.
“The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.”-

Quick please any rabid seperatists please explain this Volte Face. The Panelbase survey of 1021 people living in Scotland ...
Cue the stampede of Shakey coming to say that 1021 is far too small a sample to be reliable because small sample surveys are only valid when they say what she wants them to. Like, 8 English people in a Wetherspoons in Trowbridge were polled by the Rev and 5 of them said they'd like to flood Scotland with Marmite and then dance on the bones of Scottish children because independence.0
