The call came from Fergus Ewing, the Scottish Government's rural economy secretary, after a deal on the terms of the Brexit transition, released today, stated clearly the UK agreed to abide by CFP rules during the transition period, which ends at the end of 2020.
"The Tories have sold out the Scottish fishing industry once again and Ruth Davidson should be shame-faced for her fastest broken Brexit promise yet. Just last week she said !!!8220;Britain will leave the CFP as of March 2019!!!8221;," said Ewing.
So with Fergus Ewing getting all hot and bothered over the EU fisheries deal can we conclude that the Nats are now in favour of (a) leaving the EU and (b) leaving with no deal>
That is the only way the Nats position can be explained unless for idealogical reasons they have to argue black is white.

Up the Zulus! How do the SNP plan to ensure that Scotland’s fishermen get a fair deal in Europe?
We will continue to demand the scrapping or fundamental reform of the CFP and Scottish control of fisheries – and oppose any attempt to treat the fishing industry as a Brexit bargaining chip.
The Tories made SO much about not selling the fishermen out during the last GE and the Brexit ref. Lots of political capital there to be made by the SNP the way things are going currently. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
The SNP have no concept of irony.
THEY want to keep is in the EU, in the customs union and single market and of course that would also mean in the CFP.0 -

I'm sure they would. Pity that it wouldn't be allowed.0 -

Debateable as we have done here many times already. However, in the context of CFP and the SNP/indy movement. Full EU membership isn't necessarily the aim now which should be bourne in mind.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

The thread has almost ground to a halt. Like a nationalistic turtle that longs to return to its spawning ground but is encrusted with so many barnacles it can barely move.
We're just watching and waiting for this whole Brexit/May/Corbyn thing to come to a head. Which it will ( Ireland/Gib/Some industry moving/illegal data etc etc etc ). Something will set a sequence of events off...
The SNP are keeping heads down, as is everyone else independence minded. SNP are going back up in the polls, Davidson and Leonard crashing and burning. Davidson will come to grief with all the fishing promises.
Is just popcorn time for now. Everyone knows when it comes to it a second Scottish vote will be quick and opportunistic at a time when emotions are running high over something Brexit related. :cool:It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

No attempt at actually persuading the electorate of the (ahem!) benefits of independence and winning the argument then! :rotfl:
Recent poll, (CBA linking it), 22% of scots think a 2nd referendum likely after Brexit completed.
Sounds about right; all the propaganda in the world isn't going to change that, (thank god)0
