He focuses on debunking newspaper and media stories using official checkable sources. And it has to be said is extremely successful at what he does. He takes a story and dissects it. That being said I almost never copy and cite WoS directly as a 'source' while posting here as antrobus has suggested. There's very little point.
He focuses on rabid nationalism towards a country he has no intention of ever living in again. If Scotland were to be independent he'd just think of some other silly tinfoil hat reason why he wouldn't leave Bath.
The current leader on Wings is a baffling attempt to conflate Catalonia's non state sanctioned election and ensuing police violence, with the peaceful and democratic independence referendum in Scotland.
I am willing to accept an argument for Scottish nationalism. If I lived in Scotland and thought there was a chance of being free of a government composed of braying Tories whose only interest is the themselves and the Tory party (a political movement that was set up specifically to represent the interests of the English landed gentry), then I would want independence too.
But nonsense like that serves no purpose.0 -

As for the man who runs Wings himself, what really does it matter what his personality is as long as his articles stick to facts and are properly referenced and sourced ? This is his real strength and why he's still such a big part of the independence movement. It's nothing to do with his 'charming' personality. He just tells it how it is with very little f***ying about. He also asks outright the questions we would all really like some idea about rather than the usual wishy washy poll questions.22/12/17 New poll:
Independent Scotland in the EU: 49%
Leaving the EU with the UK: 51%Almost half – and we actually do mean almost half, specifically 46% – of 2017 Labour voters would back independence to stay in Europe, along with more than a third of Lib Dems.
So what we’re saying is, in short, it’s all to play for in the coming months. If we were Ross Thomson, we wouldn’t go booking any funerals for the Yes movement just yet.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

I can’t find anything on Panelbase's website about this poll. They’re an online polling company who commonly pay members to complete surveys. The Rev managed to poll about 1000 people with a confusing long question respondents probably didn’t bother to read fully in their quest to click their way through to the 8p they would have got for completing it.
And he is a Scottish nationalist who lives in Bath. Which is a bit like a proponent of Ryanair who will only fly Business Class on Emirates.0 -
Or an advocate of 2 star B and Bs who only stays in Hiltons.0
-
Or a staunch defender of eating from burger vans in DIY centre car parks on Saturday afternoons who is only ever seen in Michelin starred restaurants.0
-
Or someone who berates others for not shopping in thrifty stores like Wilkinsons but who then only receives his shopping from Ocado.0

I've been crunching some ONS data. It was interesting to note that Scotland has the second highest transport spend, behind London.
Now we all know why London has such high spend; it is set to grow by 20% in population in just a decade. The infrastructure has to be upgraded, and things like crossrail don't come cheap.
But what's the justification for Scotland? Subdued economic outlook coupled with low population growth...makes you wonder.0 -

Which is a bit like a proponent of Ryanair who will only fly Business Class on Emirates.Because we’ve been running a new Panelbase poll for the last week or so in order to give us some stuff to talk about over the holidays when there’s no news, and as luck would have it the results came in today.
The full poll results are being released periodically over the festive period. But it's a genuine poll and no one cares where Stu Campbell lives as long as his data is backed up, sourced and checkable. Don't make the mistake of playing the person rather than the ball.
The poll here is interesting as it asks directly about independence voting in the context of Brexit in 2019. This is something all other polls, or other media outlets that commission them, have avoided doing for very obvious reasons ( see 49/51% ).Almost half of Scots would back an independent Scotland in the European Union (EU) if a second referendum was held in early 2019, a new poll suggests.
The Panelbase research for pro-independence blog Wings over Scotland found that 49 per cent would vote for an independent Scotland in the EU if a second referendum on the issue was held in March 2019, around the time the UK is scheduled to leave the bloc.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Outdated decades old infrastructure needs upgraded and improved to cope with modern standards and number of vehicles etc etc. Just like in London. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
