Best not try this before the next Scottish Parliamentary election because a loss of nine seats might look like a good result.
If she does decide "to go all in" I predict double figure losses and an unhappy retirement.0 -
Today is a day of Direct Action, a day of Resistance and of Civil Disobedience.
Today is a day we show ourselves and our enemies the Strength and Determination of our resolve.
Today is a day we Demonstrate the Peace our Independent Scotland shall live under by the peaceful nature of the behaviour we exhibit.
Today is a day of Unity, of our Collective Power and of our peoples Alliance against Tyranny.
Today is a day we take Direct Action for Scotland's children alive and unborn for centuries to come, whome we will share our dearest veins for but as for today all we must do is March & Rally.
Scotland shall be Free, shall regain Independence; there is no doubt whatsoever concerning this as it is our Destiny, and so Today we lay claim to our Country by showing that there shall be No Rest till Yes, no rest till the UK is resigned and abandoned to the history books as a defunct colonialist mechanism, unfit for purpose in the 21st Century and beyond.
Today we win, Today we are heroes.
See you all soon

Today the Nats are marching in Glasgow from Freedom Square (where is freedom square I hear you ask; well as far as I can make out it is George Square..........they really are getting ahead of themselves)
I have seen posts suggesting/hoping/ praying for a miracle that there will be 30,000 there.
Anyway if you fancy counting them (probably nearer 30 than 30,000) they are living streaming the event from 10;30

This march should be illuminating!0 -
Your obsession is endering shaka, I did wonder how many made it today, from the videos I've seen it appears there is quite a bit more than 30, anyone that thinks 30,000 however should maybe sort out their expectations0

I reckon about 200 or so and thanks for the link.
It swings between farce, unbridled hilarity, cringeworthy to downright lunacy.

The SNP is set to lose their pro-independence majority at the Scottish Parliament at the next election as Labour make up ground, according to a new poll.
Support for Nicola Sturgeon’s party has dropped by 4.5 per cent on the constituency vote and 11 per cent on the regional list vote since last year, the Survation study for the Daily Mail found.
The figures suggest that the SNP is set to lose nine seats at the next election in 2021. With the Greens set to win eight, this means that the current pro-independence majority would be lost.
Doesn't look so good for you guys and confirms what many of us have all been saying since before the General Election.
I can see that the Daily Mail is singing and dancing about it, but you really have to wonder why.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Other than that independence support in polling seems to be holding up pretty well ( see below). Folks will be taking a keen interest in Catalonia.. but nothing really has changed since last year. Everyone is still in wait and see mode as the comment I've quoted from elsewhere sums up really well.
Should Scotland be an independent country?
Yes 46% (+3)
No 54% (-3) excluding DK's.
Scottish independence voting intention: Yes: 42% (+3) No: 49% (-4) via @Survation, 08 - 12 Sep Chgs. w/ Jun 2017None of this matters really, the only thing of consequence is whether or not Brexit is the f*** up it's shaping up to be. There's a number of possible alternatives...
A. Brexit is reversed, or we end up with a soft Brexit in which we stay in effect in EFTA (either directly, or in all but name). Independence won't be going anywhere
B. A hard Brexit happens, but somehow the leavers are right and the UK economy benefits, we sign free trade deals with the EU and the rest of the world, and everything is hunky dory, or at least not worse than now. Independence won't be going anywhere.
C. We crash out of the EU with a hard Brexit and the consequences that's been predicted for that. Independence wins by 60%+ on a pro EFTA commitment.
I don't think any of this has changed since last year, and odds on it's what Sturgeon thinks too. If it's A or B the SNP are better off backing down and waiting for 'Events'. No point in holding a referendum and losing.
However to my mind C is the most likely scenario given the shambles we've seen so far - it's just for most people who don't obsess about politics the s*** is still in mid air on the way towards the fan and so far everything is reasonably normal. But we know there is the potential of at least a 5% independence majority, we simply need to wait until the blades make contact. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0
