Only the UK government can call a referendum.
That's debatable. We've debated it many times here already and none of us who post here are lawyers ( UK or international ) nor constitutional experts. Just saying it doesn't make it so antrobus. Sorry. Like in Catalonia the lines are getting blurred when people are discussing these things between the 'law' and what constitutes self-determination and the rights of people(s) to choose democratically their own governance. Don't confuse the two as they aren't the same.
Unless you believe that UDI is going to work, you are just going to have to sit back and wait.:)
There won't be any UDI unless all democratic means are blocked completely. The Scottish electorate will decide what happens there. Not Westminster nor May.
P.S. Scotland needs to be independent to join EFTA. There is no balloon to be flown.
    Hardly news this one.
Very little of what you post ' is hardly epic news or information for us all either'. Your refusal to even debate or discuss the fiscal reality of this hypothetical independent Scotland is also well known 'to us all' as well.

    Here's the IFS analysis.

Their figures suggest the subsidy is more like 11 billion this fiscal year. So perhaps that 8 billion is 'debatable.:rotfl:
I've debated fiscal realities here lots of times. I just can't be a***d doing it with you. You're not really interested in anything I have to say so why bother. :A
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Apparently even talking about another referendum is enough to get a third of the country voting Tory, which is another reason.

    Are you sure?

Looks more like a slackening of the purse strings that has brought on this downgrade.

Imagine where the rating would have been if Labour and the Nats were running a coalition (or similar)?

I imagined you would have looked at it that way... but the BBC did report that Moody''s have once again downgraded the UK , and the reason they have given is Brexit

You may wish to take that up with the BBC , stating something different from your beliefs... I will let you decide if you do :)

    Ah, the BBC.
    Say no more.
You might like to look at the official website instead of biased UK media, paying particular attention to their stated #1 key driver for the change.
And note the change to "stable" from "negative" - an improvement. ;)

If you are so concerned about Moody`s UK rating why would you even contemplate independence when you view Their Prediction for Scotland.

Would that be THE Angela Mekel?
The Angela Merkel who (it looks like) won't stand for re-election next year because she knows she would be soundly defeated?
    Yeah, that one. :D
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

I note you did not point out just how long ago this was (almost a year) - OR the rest of the post you quote and hence the reason for that (German dissatisfaction at migration); any particular reason why, Mayo?
Heck, even a week is a long time in politics but nigh on a year? :rotfl:

Never mind though eh, you discount the rise of the AfD and Merkel's fall in popularity with her polling under 33% this time around as opposed to 41% in 2013. :D
    You must be rattled!
