Mrs May appears to have polled personally better than both Merkel and Macron. Funny old world. Isn't it. :snow_laug0 -

Firstly this a a Scotland thread, not a Germany one despite your attempts to make it so.
Secondly read my original post;A_Medium_Size_Jock wrote: »The Angela Merkel who (it looks like) won't stand for re-election next year .......
Thirdly - how popular is Merkel? She saw quite a drop in popularity no? She received under 33% of the votes cast (compared to TM's over 45%) and as such has cast German politics into instability.
You need this, I think: https://www.toolstation.com/shop/Landscaping/d130/Shovels+%26+Spades/sd2669/Bulldog+Square+Mouth+No.2+Open+Socket+Shovel/p11860ilovehouses wrote: »Mrs Merkel appears to have exceeded Jock's expectations by some substantial margin.
Really?
You have no idea what my expectations are or were.
If you're trying to read them from my posts it is evident that you're really not very good at it.
How about - and I know this is an alien thought for you - you debate the subject matter at hand instead of persistently attempting the baiting of other posters as you are me?
And on an appropriate thread.
Because AGAIN my original related Merkel at that time to Sturgeon.

Wonder if Theresa will be using a script for the below this time ? Neither of the First Ministers (Sturgeon, Jones ) and Holyrood as a whole will budge on this without something really substantial coming Wales and Scotland's way <--- which is highly unlikely.
Rewriting the Scotland Act without Holyrood's consent to re-reserve powers is a very, very risky political strategy to play and Mrs May is trying to avoid doing so. She knows that overriding the Scotland Act and Holyrood's wishes from Westminster will go down very well in some areas of the UK and in forums like this one. Cheers of support etc.
However, how it plays out in Scotland is a very different prospect entirely.Theresa May has said she will speak to Scotland's first minister in a bid to end the Brexit deadlock between the two governments. The Scottish government has accused the UK government of using Brexit as an excuse for a "power grab" on the devolved parliaments.
And it has said it cannot back the prime minister's Brexit bill without changes being made.
Mrs May said she will have talks with Nicola Sturgeon on the issue. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
I thought Mrs May wasn't going to have talks with Nicola Sturgeon.
