IMO a ban in fracking will do more good than bad for the following reasons;- No chance of water table contamination from fracking
- No bad publicity
- Very little chance of lots of money going up in Scotland (most of the money will leave Scotland, just like the oil- we will be left with crumbs; remember the broad shoulders of the UK that kept all the oil jobs going during the downturn - me neither)
- We need to keep fossil fuels in the ground
- We can use renewable (why does nobody talk about tidal as last time I looked the moon turned up to do the tide when predicted)
- Any damage from permitted fracking will adversely affect farming, food and whisky which are all Scottish key exports.

Tourism, food and drink industry, renewable technology all now don't have to worry about environmental damage and the effects to their industry
Of course I expect you to disagree0 -
Big Theresa gave some speech the day ... hilarious stuff ... even better than her strong and stable Brexit means Brexit and it's gonna be red white and blue brexit
Wonder how long the p45 will take to come into effect0 -

That was covered in the 2014 report. The reality is you haven't got any valid reasons to oppose it. Sounds more like NIMBYism to me.
When you jump in you car tomorrow think about it again.0 -

Valid reason = what the Scottish public want.A public consultation on fracking policy attracted more than 65,000 responses, with about 65% of those from communities in former coal mining areas of central Scotland targeted by the fracking industry. Of those, 99% of respondents opposed it,
One of the largest public consultation exercises since devolution began. Fracking isn't wanted in Scotland. End of story. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

The Scottish public don't want independence either but that doesn't stop the SNP pushing for it. :cool:0 -
