Unlike The National which is the most rabid pro indy newspaper.

Speaking of which, here is a link to a recent issue which made me smile.

    http://www.thenational.scot/news/15571643.Nicola_Sturgeon_says_2_million_Catalan_votes_for_independence_cannot_be_ignored/

Unlike 2 million pro union voters in Scotland whom Nicola manages to ignore perfectly easily.
As far as I'm aware Scotland is still part of the UK. So the 2 million got what they wanted.. whether it will still be what they want when the UK swirls down the Brexit s**thole is another question altogether.

We do need to ask though. Just to make sure the UK is still what they want.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?
  • Ill informed compared to Swinney? When's that oil boom happening again?

The SNP and those associated have long since lost the ability to pull the wool over the eyes of others.

Yes ill informed. There's not a FMQ's recently where Davidson has had the right info or managed to get through it without another MSP having to correct her or point out a basic mistake.

She is also a completely policy free politician. I'm probably not alone in this, and it probably won't happen.. but I am really hoping there's a by-election in England soon and she's parachuted in hoping to become Conservative leader. Just so we can all see her attempt some real politics beyond soundbites.

Ah yes and your illustrious leader claiming she can keep Scotland in both the EU and the UK is well informed too I imagine?

What about Salmond, was he well informed about the prospects of an independent Scotland reliant on oil?

Or Cherry and her mad ramblings on tv unable to tell the population what the currency will be.

Yes, yes, the SNP is full of luminaries.

    Again with the "proud" adjective.

Does that mean Scottish people who are not for independence are not proud of their heritage?

Oil is an unpredictable commodity. 22 minutes ago :-
Statoil announces oil discovery in outer Moray Firth

Statoil has reported that a new discovery in the North Sea could contain up to 130 million barrels of oil.
The Norwegian group said at least 25 million recoverable barrels had been proven in the immediate vicinity of the Verbier sidetrack well in the outer Moray Firth.
It added there could be "significant remaining potential" in the basin.
Statoil plans further appraisals to determine the exact size of the find.
It will also assess the commercial viability of the discovery.
Jez Averty, a senior vice president at Statoil, said: "This is an encouraging result for Statoil and the UK team.

The next ref campaign will mention oil very little though.

Except the industry of North Sea oil believes that it's entering the last decade of production (as of 2017) with reserves of 20 billion barrels.

By those calculations that 130 million barrels will give you an extra ~2 months of production. :T

Without mentioning that production is increasing (due to the falling cost of extraction at the moment), so the longevity of the reserves decreases as time passes if that trend continues.

What about them ? You are free to like or dislike politicians as you please. However the fact is that Ruth Davidson is now being touted round political circles and in media commentary as a potential Conservative party leader in the very near future... and thus the next PM... is a clear sign to me of total desperation and straw clutching. For example below and its one of many this last week :-

Seriously ? :D This is a better take imho
And for the robotic Theresa May, having Ruth Davidson as a bestie makes up for all those lonely times she has stood on the side-lines looking in. Popularity could, after all, be contagious. But at least May has some background. She has run departments, the party, she knows the people and the politics. May has a hinterland, just not the personality. She simply shouldn’t have been PM.
Davidson, meanwhile, has risen without real scrutiny.

I hope Davidson is parachuted into a safe seat down south. She's used to a free pass up here on the telly etc. Marr's 'interview' yesterday was more like a cosy chat asking Ruth what it's like to be sooooooo fabulous !? Would be interesting to see Davidson perform under pressure defending policies, something which she hasn't had to do yet.

I really don't care if she is being touted as the next monarch.

My issue is with those who revere the SNP, as you do, casitgating for the very thing the SNP has had a monopoly on for many many years via multiple mouthpieces.

    i.e. hypocrisy
