Which party received more votes and have more seats in Scotland than the SNP?
Here come the sadly deluded creeping out of their foxholes following a massive rejection of the SNP (by 2-1) at the GE, starting off the "we didn't lose, we won, so we speak for Scotland etc etc etc" nonsense.
Destined to live a of blissful ignorance where everyone, (NO voters, Leave voters, Tory voters, Trump voters) are either misguided, misled, stupid or wrong and that those who have the "insight" to rail against what they insultingly demean as "populism" are the true and only holders of moral superiority.
I should feel sorry for the misguided, but to be honest life is too short and I CBA
I'm finished with this nonsensical thread; thanks to everyone who help finally nail the Scottish Independence coffin shut; for the people who tried to drag Scotland into some kind of third world economy.....back in your box!0 -
It was a UK election not a Scottish one. Which party lost ~40% of their MP's (Note not MSP's) in the General Election?
NS fronted it..she should go Simple.Which party lost their leaders seat at Westminster? Which party lost Alex Salmond as an MP? Which party lost more than a third of their MP's? S?P...can you fill in the blank easily?Which party was 'sent home to think again'?
I'm glad somebody else cares about the Westminster elections but I hope they can clearly explain their relevance to Scotland, and especially to supporters of a party that explicitly wants to end them. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I see that Shakey has not visited since the day of the GE (well, but chastened I hope) so much of the provocation has gone.
No doubt we will all reassemble when the need arises.Union, not Disunion
I have a Right Wing and a Left Wing.

Duh Scotland is a part of the UK.
When we Scots vote in a UK election we are expressing our preference for the party we trust to govern well and in the best interests of the whole of the United Kingdom.
If you can`t grasp that basic tenet of democracy you might as well butt out of adult discussion about politics.Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.

How can anyone quantify the value of a poster.
I have been criticised elsewhere for posting in a thread about Brexit because I am a Brit NOT living in Britain.
While I think I have something to contribute to a discussion about Britain, Brexit and the EU because I live in the EU, I make sure that any contribution in this thread shows where I live.
I find it uncomfortable that many posters on this SCOTTISH thread do not declare their heritage or where they live in England, Scotland, Wales or N Ireland.
If someone born and bred and living in New Zealand comments on the Country in which I live or the one I was born in I can give the value to that comment that it deserves.
Anyone commenting on a Country's politics or way of life and HIDES behind where they live today should recognise that those comments have NO value. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

I have never hid where I am from
I was born in Scotland, still live in Scotland and will probable die in Scotland.
I am proud to say I voted to leave the EU mainly because I object to how it is run and the amount of money we have to give them.
I am also proud to say that I have never voted SNP because I do not agree with their policies.
And finally I never voted to leave to the UK because Scotland would never survive on their own.0 -

We do live in the same country as the Scottish nationalists.
Part of the problem is them not recognising that. I would like to think you were aware of this rather than dancing to their divisive tune?
It's ironic that now they have lost 20 odd MP's that Scots are now represented much better in Westminster than they ever were under the SNP. They can actually influence and shape policy. The faux grievance is gone and the lie about the SNP being the only party to stand up to the Conservatives is now obvious for all to see. Long may it remain so.
I've always maintained that if it made sense for Scotland to be independent then I would not argue against it. However it doesn't right now and those who are pushing for it are trying to get it through the back door by any means necessary and the reason for doing so is dogma. That's not a healthy political view.0 -

Phew! How many posters here have mentioned where they live? (apart from me). There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
