If you didn't want to hear Sturgeon going on about Independence, then why did you give the SNP a clean sweep in 2015?

What exactly did you think they were going to go on about?

I have never ever voted for SNP and never will.

I have never trusted them and never will.

Look at the state they have created in our schools and all the promises they have broken over the years.

Quite. Education is a mess, but then it is in England as well. Our NHS and education in Scotland still outperforms the rest of the UK.

Doesn't mean we shouldn't expect better.

    NHS

The previous comparative study of the four UK health systems, published in 2010 and revised in 2011, found that the NHS in England performed better than the devolved countries across a range of indicators. However, this latest study, which includes a wider range of performance measures, reveals that while there are few indicators on which a devolved country does better than England or its North East region, the performance gap between England and the rest of the UK has narrowed in recent years.

    Education

Scotland's schools have recorded their worst ever performance in an international survey of pupils...The comparison with other parts of the UK suggest that English pupils were "significantly above" Scots in science

So, no it does not appear that the "NHS and education in Scotland .. outperforms the rest of the UK".

Thanks for your cherry picked statistics and your welcoming condescension.

Of course I could pick any number of other alternative competing sources but what exactly would that achieve as your mind is so clearly set?

I however will leave you with observation from the own report you've quoted but clearly didn't read - Scotland significantly outperformed England in both maths and reading, but England were slightly better at science.

One thing is knowing how to use Google. Another is being able to interpret what you read and not simply searching for articles that agree with your prejudice.

It's entirely reasonable to expect public services with higher funding per head to do better, however they're not doing well enough are they? England pays less per head and competes for efficiency and performance admirably in both health and education. Scotland in particular should be outperforming England on all metrics with the amount of funding they have, to not do so can be considered a failing.

Have you verified the spend per head on NHS?
Have you considered the population size and geographical impact.

One could easily direct a debate towards economies of scale and geographical centrality benefits that England would have over Scotland
