..I find it uncomfortable that many posters on this SCOTTISH thread do not declare their heritage or where they live in England, Scotland, Wales or N Ireland....

Let me reassure you. I believe I have quite openly stated that I don't live in Scotland, have no say in whether in whether Scotland becomes independent, and actually don't much care one way or another to be honest.

The only reason I have ever posted on this 'Scottish Thread' is to counteract the "farrago of delusional nonsense" (© James Munby) that certain SNP zealots felt inclined to post. Scottish residents who do have a say on the issue of independence should at least know what it is they might be getting themselves into.

I've got to say, I've never cared nor worried on the whereabouts or origins of any poster on this thread, and I don't believe we're meant to. Once or twice I've seen people who did seem to get worked up about it and they didn't last long.

There are sub-forums meant to be for people only in Scotland and only in England etc. but this isn't one of them.

Posters from all parts of the UK, and other countries from Luxembourg to Australia are all welcome to post here.

Which party lost their leaders seat at Westminster? Which party lost Alex Salmond as an MP? Which party lost more than a third of their MP's? S?P...can you fill in the blank easily?
As you are being pedantic elsewhere ...

That is leader's seat - with an apostrophe.

MPs in plural has no apostrophe.

You seem to have trouble with apostrophes '-)

And Alex Salmond was not the SNP leader recently. He was SNP International Affairs and Europe spokesperson in the House of Commons during 2015-2017.

It was a UK election not a Scottish one. Which party lost ~40% of their MP's (Note not MSP's) in the General Election?

NS fronted it..she should go Simple.

    Er, do you mean:-
    a) She should resign pure and simple?
    b) She should go simple (as in lose mental faculty)?

As to a) - isn't this a bit like saying every Premier League manager should resign of their team don't finish higher than last year every year?

Do she and her party need to reflect on their strategy and goals? I absolutely agree with you on that.

If their abysmal mis management of the team is the root cause then yes ;)

The SNP still have not got the message though. Richard !!!!head, commenting in the local press, stated that they had not got the message about the EU and Brexit over strongly enough, not a mention of the constant banging on about IndyRef2 being a major contributing factor.

Yes, that is exactly the point.

Not everyone who fails to win an increased majority in successive elections deserved to take the high jump.

Just as one might argue as someone who has a truly stellar chance to win an election and fails to despite getting an increased share of the vote, deserves some scrutiny.

The objection I have to the trend in both football and life is we seem to think everyone must fall on their sword at even the slightest failure. If you don't learn through experience, you will have no experience.

It will be interesting how many of Macron's minions do - as many have never been elected before let alone held a government position. They may be stars.

As you seem to be the self-appointed punctuation expert on here, perhaps you might examine your post and correct your error.

Sorry, but in an environment where battling with a predictive text monster, and a spell checker which thinks it's a Merkin a lot of the time, my arousal level about commas, spelling and the occasional "porsting" (my word for what happens with the above) is, shall we say, slimply indifferent.

Er actually - I responded to being picked up on the just that and felt the poster needed to put his own house in order first. He was thereafter rude and dismissive and added no value to the thread - so I had a go back. Apologies for not asking permission.

My posts are as full of typos as the next person and will remain so.

But in the spirit of co-operation - if you fix your other posts - I'll maybe do mine.
