Thanks for your cherry picked statistics and your welcoming condescension. ..
You're welcome.:)
But you are the one who claimed that "Our NHS and education in Scotland still outperforms the rest of the UK."
It's perfectly clear from the sources I quoted which are actually independent organisation such as the Nuffield Trust and the OECD that your claim is not true.0 -

Have you considered the population size and geographical impact.
One could easily direct a debate towards economies of scale and geographical centrality benefits that England would have over Scotland
That's correct. Scotland has 8.3% of the UK's population spread over 32% of the UK's land mass. So, of course, the provision of certain public services will cost more on a per capita basis. That is the 'moral justification' for that £8 billion or so subsidy that (mainly) English taxpayers send to Scotland every year. (Although there are arguments that even on a 'needs basis' that £8 bn is too much.)
But the real point would be that, since the "population size and geographical impact" is not going to change as a result of independence, any hypothetical independent Scotland would have to face up to paying these extra costs all by itself.0 -
Quite. Education is a mess, but then it is in England as well. Our NHS and education in Scotland still outperforms the rest of the UK.
Doesn't mean we shouldn't expect better.
Nicola Sturgeon is on record as saying 'judge me on education'! Given that, 10 years in power and the election results why has she not resigned?0 -
Saying things are worse in England is totally irrelevant. NS and the SNP, 10 years in power, and she is on camera saying 'judge me on Education'.
Her and her party have been judged...yet she hasn't resigned? Honourable/trust her..I don't think so!0 -

Possibly because education is devolved, we've just voted in a Westminster election, and the SNP got more votes/seats than anyone else?
Is your post deliberate irony or do you not understand what you typed?Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.

Perhaps he means that since literary levels are down some people put Xs in the wrong box and voted for the SNP.Union, not Disunion

Yep, yet she appeared to be the SNP spokesperson despite not standing...you can't have it both ways! The SNP didn't get more votes and seats in the Westminster election by any stretch of the imagination. You cannot mix and match to suit your own agenda !!!!!!!0 -
