The nurse has said that the media portrayal of her "quaffing" champagne and eating steak dinners in exotic locations around the world were excursions paid for with the help of others.

It's quite possible that she's telling the truth, but it has undeniably turned into a witch hunt whether she was honest or not. It is shameful.

I find this strange that benefactors would opt to support this lady by paying for global excursions as opposed to helping out on a more day to day basis for her and her daughter.

If I were in this position, I'd certainly want to ensure that my children were supported ahead of going on any fancy trips.

I don't think it is fair to "go after" the public, but I guess I understand to understand the context the people (and their circumstances) were talking about.

The important part is to make sure you get your facts before outing anything.

Fabulous. An SNP supporter suggesting that people should get their facts right.

Instead of making things up, presumably.

I tell it how it is, what my opinions are.
My current political preference does not impinge my capabilities to assess or act fairly.

So instead of trying to play the man, are you in agreement with my post or wish to challenge it in any way?

I couldn't possibly comment. I don't know her or her financial position in her day to day life.

It's not unheard of for family members or good friends who can afford it to treat others to holidays and such. The immediate reaction to this woman should be of note, it did take place whether she was honest or not. Some would say it's a justified reaction if the woman was dishonest, but not being able to say either way I would think the benefit of doubt should be extended.

Guilty until proven innocent appears to be the modus operandi, and that's bad.

In which case why do you pursue the line of agreeing with lies and spin?
You are in agreement with the trashing of a member of the public because they point out the lies of SNP campaigning?
    Shame on you.
    Again.

She's a nurse who earns around £22000 a year and cricises the SNP for their administration of the NHS in Scotland. And what happens? She gets trashed by the SNP attack dogs for whom any criticism of their management of devolved services in Scotland is unaccepatable.

And all you can do in response is to come out with a 'no smoke without fire' line. Shame on you.
Oh give over. If this lady had been shouting at Ruth Davidson about food banks and then these sort of pictures appeared on social media 5 mins afterwards.. You'd have been here, along with all the current media types getting all pious over 'smearing a nurse'..renting garments, clutching pearls and having hysterics over fake news and SNP plants in the audience. And don't think we don't know it either. ;)

Sincerely hope Bernard Ponsonby has taken the hint and will stick to mainly reserved areas for the next debate. This debate was just boring. I don't want to hear about devolved issues in a Westminster election. I want to hear about Brexit, welfare, social care, UK wide taxes and issues that we're actually voting on. Not fake Scottish Labour, Scottish Lib Dem and Scottish Tory manifesto's that mean absolutely b****r all until 2021.

I've lost count of the amount of times an SNP MP has had to gently remind an interviewer that there's no Scottish election on.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

I note that the original remarks about the nurse were by Ms Cherry, the SNP's justice and home affairs spokesperson (at Westminster),

SNP's justice spokesperson? Says it all really.
