You'd have been here, along with all the current media types getting all pious over 'smearing a nurse'..renting garments, clutching pearls and having hysterics over fake news and SNP plants in the audience. And don't think we don't know it either.
Sincerely hope Bernard Ponsonby has taken the hint and will stick to mainly reserved areas for the next debate. This debate was just boring. I don't want to hear about devolved issues in a Westminster election. I want to hear about Brexit, welfare, social care, UK wide taxes and issues that we're actually voting on. Not fake Scottish Labour, Scottish Lib Dem and Scottish Tory manifesto's that mean absolutely b****r all until 2021.
I've lost count of the amount of times an SNP MP has had to gently remind an interviewer that there's no Scottish election on.
Even Nicola recognises that.
Shakey though?
No, never.
It's an opportunity, isn't it?
How very sad that some must stoop so low.Nicola Sturgeon criticised the social media reaction to Ms Austin and gave her backing to Ms Cherry. "She made a mistake, an honest mistake and she apologised for that," the SNP leader said.
"In terms of the wider social media reaction, I don't think it's acceptable to make judgements about somebody's background.
"The nurse on the debate last night was absolutely entitled to raise the issue that she did.
"She raised an issue that is one of the biggest issues in this campaign - the level and value of real wages not just in the public sector but in the private sector."
Read that and cease your diatribes Shakey.
Your beloved leader even says such actions are wrong.0 -
I note that the original remarks about the nurse were by Ms Cherry, the SNP's justice and home affairs spokesperson (at Westminster),
SNP's justice spokesperson? Says it all really.
Maybe not the best record in the role.
I had a huge issue with Kenny MacKaskill when he was the justice secretary:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.

Where have I agreed with the "trashing of a member of the public"?
Please stop the nastiness.
Reading the post I saw a question mark - it was IMHO a question.
There is no need for your poor attitude.0 -

I need to bookmark this as your acknowledgement that Nicola Sturgeon is correct
I'll take it as praise that she can be clear on this issue and it can be put to bed:wall:

It does look like the disdain for such a "mauling" is pretty much universal. Apart from some posters in here it seems. This from the LibDem's:The Liberal Democrat's Alex Cole-Hamilton said Ms Austin had been set upon by the "online Nationalist army" and he demanded the first minister launch an immediate investigation into the "public mauling".
"Efforts to discredit the impartiality of a public sector worker went right to the top of the SNP, as shown by the comments made by Joanna Cherry, which were later retracted," he said.
''Freedom of speech, especially the right to criticise our political leaders, is something we must cherish. That is why the first minister must act now.''0 -
Modern day Scotland.

I've lost count of the times I've heard it argued that the Westminster (UK) EU Referendum was all about Scottish opinion not about the opinion of the UK as a whole.
Like it or not, it does appear from here, well south of the border, that the SNP is not getting it all their own way.Union, not Disunion
I have a Right Wing and a Left Wing.

Are you really so devoid of cognizance?
Just because I disagree with so many policies does not mean I think Nicola is never right.
On this occasion she really didn't have much of an option after being caught out.
You take it how you like.
See who cares.

SNP manifesto tomorrow, Tories are looking wobbly and weak rather than strong and stable. Hope we don't move into hung parliament territory again, I can't be a***d with all that 'rivers of blood' stuff about the SNP at Westminster again with Westminster leaders all breaking their legs in order to assert that they wouldn't want to even be in the same room as the 'nasty nats' or even breathe the same air.
Badmouthing the majority of Scottish MP's and representatives at the same time touting that they don't want to see the UK break up isn't the best look to be honest. May needs to do something quick !It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

There is no need for you to get involved as it added nothing to the discussion
I didn't understand the question. It looks like more of a statement in phrasing to me and one that is in direct opposition to my projected view.
Like that bit in red above for a start. Why are you so nasty? Did you not bother reading my post? The LibDem comments?0
