Personally, it wouldn't bother me, but would you include Northern Ireland as part of the UK remaining in the UK with you?
They also voted to Remain.
What I struggle to understand is the timing. When would Scotland hold another indy ref? After the 2 year Article 50 period?
I think the situation in NI is very different. Every region of Scotland voted in favour of remain. With NI, most the unionist regions were in favour of leave. So the question of whether NI remains in the EU (via independence) cannot be separated from the internal politics."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
Even if Scotland did commit the biggest act of economic hari kiri in history by leaving the Union, I`m sure the rUK would respond in kind by tweaking Scotland`s idiotic nose. You don`t p*ss off the people who buy 90% of your goods I would suggest. There`s a febrile atmosphere in England at the moment and Salmond got a taste of that on QT tonight. Sturgeon would do well to shut her trap for a week or two till things calm down a bit, she won`t like us if we get really angry.
Sturgeon would love to rile up a bit of slavering English nationalism - she's been trying for long enough.
What are 'we' going to do exactly? Give her what she wants by the sounds of it.
She doesn't care whether Scotland's nose is attached to its face, she doesn't care about !!!!ing off Scotland's major trading partner and she doesn't care whether it's economic suicide.

The weakness of Sturgeon is that she doesn't want a referendum, because she'll lose it. For every Scot reveling in her political opportunism there`s at least another annoyed by it. Anti-SNP feeling is now widespread in England and just like the last GE there is real political capital to be had in antipathy toward Scottish Nationalism.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

virtually no-one in England really cares about Sturgeon: that may annoy her as she wants to be the centre of attention.
Whilst I'm sure the Stots won't miss us, they will miss the English money.0 -

I have no idea why you think that anything England 'feels' towards the SNP is in anyway relevant one iota as far as Scottish independence is concerned. What the English feel towards the SNP just isn't a factor. It's what the Scots feel about them that matters since they're the people that will decide.
The SNP is nothing to do with England. Sorry, the clue is in the name.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Yes, she does.Indy ref 2: Poll says up to 500,000 No voters would switch sides in event of second referendum
OUR exclusive poll says Yes would win 54 per cent of the vote in a second independence referendum as up to half a million voters swap sides.Breaking: Poll on Scottish independence Yes 54% No 46% (Survation/DR, excluding don't knows)It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
