Happy Easter banner lettering printed off.
Food shopping done.
Need to make a trifle, cauliflower cheese, peel potatoes, make a birthday cake, make cornflake cake nests, make sheep cakes (yes, that is probably going to be the trickiest), make an Easter tree, maybe make a springtime wreath, maybe make a few giant paper flowers.
We have family coming over for a roast lunch tomorrow. I was supposed to be cooking it (as DH has to work). However, he has started telling me how he is going to cook everything!
Littlewing is hugely excited.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter. SDW, thinking especially of you in this respect as you have lost your church 'family'. Hoping you and your new church will grow closer xxxx
And thinking of code, of course xxxxxx
And lots of Easter love, hugs and squishes to everyone on the thread and to the hummingbirds circling us. Wishing the hummingbirds strength to post if you would like to ~~~~~~~~~~~Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I've bee prescribed an aniviral for the shingles.
The side effects are
I can't get warm.
I was hoping to go out for a day trip but haven't felt well enough.
There's no shopping in for tomorrow either.
I'm up and out in layers of vest, polo neck, jumper and cardigan. I'm still shivering.
Tomorrow will be my rainy, stay indoors day. I hope to get stuff done. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Thanks so much for your very kind and sensitive comments.
We are at our static caravan in North Wales and are going to celebrate Easter Sunday on the beach at 6.45 a.m with the local church. Really looking forward to it(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Evening my Lovelies,
Massive hugs, squishes and handshakes to all that need them and extras for anyone who wants them. That includes you Code.
I will be handing out chocolate easter bunnies in the fort. They are of course calorie free.
WaS interesting as ever. I do love reading what you have to say about what you experience.
Well my craft room/office is nearly done. The room still needs decorating but that will be after the windows are out in june. But I have things pretty much as I want them. Just a bit of tidying up around the edges. I am so :jas it means I know what I have now craft wise. And also don't need to keep dragging my sewing machine in and out the cupboard so I might start to get some use out of it.
It has also meant I could empty the cupboard in there and then shift xmas decs and a 6 person tent in to it. Don't ask, that was come from AM and has now freed up space in his room.
At least all the baskets and flexitubs I have bought now have a use :rotfl:
Everyone take care and happy easter no matter how you are spending it.
Yours
Calley XHope for everything and expect nothing!!!

Thinking of you Code x
Penguin
Went to Harry's at the weekend, he's started collecting bottles (again) & Lidl Pamphlets. Thought I'd try that out as I've never done one before.

Duke! Hello, my friend! Hopefully Harry is just going through a little blip, keep an eye on him. How is he doing in other ways? It is lovely to see you!
Special hugs to Code.

Aaaaaw thanks WaS
Well at least they're only plastic bottles this time rather than glass. I did ask him about them but he didn't want to discuss.
Harry seems to be doing OK thanks for asking, or as well as he'll ever be I think. He worries about us all dying, then he says they'll (the voices) come for him.
I've not had any eggs yet, although I had poached on Friday, does that count? I'll pop in Thorntons on the way back from hospital tomorrow, 60% off!0 -
Gitdog went to the beach yesterday. He even managed to sit sensibly in a cafe while I had lunch, bar the occasional "well hello there" woof at other dogs when he was feeling ignored.
Would someone please return the real Gitdog forthwith, as this was clearly a Stepford type doppelgänger who'd snuck in somewhere along the way.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

sending safe hugs to all of you who are struggling x Flick, I think Pertinent is right, it is very hard to fix someone with alcohol or addictions unless they are ready, and let go, easier said than done. I know, especially when you're a parent.
My mother was an abusive alcoholic, it's so hard, and it sets up dynamics such as people pleasing and rescuing, taking on the feeling like it's your fault and putting all of your needs aside. Sometimes people have to hit rock bottom before they get help, but it is possible, My male bestie was an alcoholic and addicted to crystal meth and he has been clean and sober for 3 years now. He swears by AA, maybe you could take him to a meeting? It might be worth trying. He says that listening to their stories of how bad their life got, keeps him on the sober path and reminds him that life is a lot easier sober. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE0
