Not bored of it at all code..... post away! Hope the interview helps clarifies things.0

That was helpful and not. There's a job there if I want and they clarified the situation with the promotion opportunity. Just need to wait for an answer to my email and then I can decide properly. They really want me back though which is nice.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Would they start you on the salary you were on when you left Code?
what about some structure around the promotion?0 -
That's what I'm trying to find out melly. HR can be tricky. I haven't accepted anything yet so waiting to see what they come back with. Nice to have options.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Did they ask you about why you left the first time (or more to the point, why you started looking to leave them)? Reason I ask is if they will have done anything to address the things that drove you to leave first time round.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
They know why I left. I was very clear on that! :rotfl: it probably won't have changed much but at least I know what I'd be getting.
Do you guys think I should mention that the offer is on the table to my line manager - as a sort of, I've been offered this job but I haven't decided yet or should I just keep quiet? I feel like I don't want to say anything but maybe I should as a courtesy.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Is there anything the current place could say to make you want to stay? If so, it's worth mentioning. If you absolutely know you want out of there as soon as possible then personally I'd wait until I had a firm offer from somewhere else and then just resign.0

Alt-Tab nope. Nothing.
I have connected to a printer. Changed an address. Found a shared drive and memorised my copier account PIN.
Same again tomorrow with added searches. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Sounds like your system has been deliberately crippled by the IT department then, in a way that dramatically reduces efficiency. Doesn't surprise me, unfortunately, but I can't offer any more suggestions (other than to complain) as it seems to be something only the IT department could sort out
I've ordered myself a massive Italian - English dictionary as a treat. It's coming from amazon.it as I couldn't find the up-to-date version in the UK (Pyxis, it's the one you suggested ages ago from Garzanti, I finally got around to buying it). Was also looking at trains to Cardiff on quarter finals day of the Welsh open that I failed to go to last year. Also failed to organise anything today (had to do some actual work so got distracted)

Sounds like the usual overzealous IT security who doesn't really understand how the programs are supposed to be used. The new place has a frustrating setup caused by that. Luckily, we have dual monitors.
Is this any good for you Gn?
