My mood has just dropped off a cliff now. I want to go home and cry/sleep/hug DA dog/all of the above. Didn't start until late today so I have ages to go before I can escape.

Modafinil found to improve memory in people recovering from depression

A new study funded by the MRC and Wellcome, and published today in the journal Biological Psychiatry: Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroimaging, has found that the wakefulness-promoting drug modafinil improves memory functions in people recovering from depression.

Interesting. My memory is very poor, i did bring it up with my GP at the last visit and his response was that espcially with the depressive periods sometimes you don;t pay as much attention to things so you don;t retain the information, and can also be a side effect of medication. I can remember fragments on my life, but not clear memories. But then i;ve been depressed since 11 so its not surprising my memory has taken a battering. On the plus side to not remembering stuff i seem to have blocked out most if the bad experiences too, so i guess thats an upside.

Paid the deposit for my tattoo today! :j just got to get booked in now!

I just spent a lot of money on Lindy bop dresses in a futile attempt to cheer myself up.

Yay for the tattoo MU. I keep meaning to have another one designed.

    That's so pretty MU.

I kind is have an idea which does incorporate teal butterflies and lighting bolts, kind of a reminder to keep fighting through my illness but I don't have the artistic skills to draw it out and I don't know where to put it. And I'm not feeling much like a warrior at the moment.

Ugh, the thought of another day in that horrible place makes me want to cry.

Driverless cars are in the news again. WaS, assuming they get driverless cars to a point where they don't need a real person to take over the controls, do you think you would be able to order and get into one (like a taxi service; ignoring cost for now) to go out and see the world nearby? It may be fun to imagine what adaptations we may need to cater for people with social phobia etc.

For example, ability to have blacked out windows?
Select the voice pre-arrival if there are automated messages? (A deep bloke's voice may be terrifying if you are on your own in it.) Or have messages appear in type only?

You don't need to know anything about driverless cars to join in. Just imagine there is the ability to order something that could appear at your house and take you somewhere or take you in a loop (leisure drive) and return you.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Hold strong tea. Although I'm still at the train station as the train company seems to have forgotten they're meant to send trains so today is off to a less than stellar start. I may be joining you on that final option.

I have actual work to do but nobody has ever bothered to tell me what I'm supposed to do. They just hand me a list of algorithms that don't relate to anything in the code and ask me to change them. Then when I ask for help everyone says they don't know. The only person who ever helped me left just before Christmas so now I'm even more stuffed. Still not heard anything about the other job so now I'm furious at both employers and the only jobs being advertised are probably worse than the one I have now.

There's a guy at the train station who keeps spitting. It's OK to push him in front of a train, assuming one ever shows up, yes?
