Big hugs to everyone who's having job woes. Where I work isn't really that bad, especially in comparison to what other people are dealing with, but everyone is so demotivated at the moment that I'm really struggling to bother to do anything on the rare occasions that I actually have enough work to do.

I love Lindybop dresses but fear that, due to my current excessively-lardy state, ordering any new clothes at the moment would be a very bad idea for my self-esteem.

Code - yes, it's perfectly acceptable to push him under a train. I think you'd actually be doing a public service. I regularly offer people tissues on trains if they won't stop sniffing. They tend not to be overly impressed but people around them seem to approve :D

A colleague of mine has just described our boss as a dark miasma..... which made me laugh a lot as it's so accurate!

Driverless cars are in the news again. WaS, assuming they get driverless cars to a point where they don't need a real person to take over the controls, do you think you would be able to order and get into one (like a taxi service; ignoring cost for now) to go out and see the world nearby? It may be fun to imagine what adaptations we may need to cater for people with social phobia etc.

For example, ability to have blacked out windows?
Select the voice pre-arrival if there are automated messages? (A deep bloke's voice may be terrifying if you are on your own in it.) Or have messages appear in type only?

You don't need to know anything about driverless cars to join in. Just imagine there is the ability to order something that could appear at your house and take you somewhere or take you in a loop (leisure drive) and return you.

I'd want a nice voice telling me what a pleasure it is for the car to be driving me around, how my wish is their command, and what a super passenger I am being.

They could also tell me what nice eyes I have and how my smile really cheers them up. :D

They can stop at a viewpoint and share comments about what a glorious view.

They can take me shopping, and tell me that that dress I just bought is lovely, it was worth every penny, and no, my bum doesn't look big in it.
There will be a machine dispensing any hot drink I desire, and a cake drawer.
Something massaging my shoulders would be good, too.

With that going on, I don't really mind where they take me! :rotfl:

    I'm sad, aren't I? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Izzy - I bought the dresses I knew would be slightly tight on me as motivation. Probably a bad idea as I'll end up with a wardrobe full of dresses and skirts I can't wear and in floods of tears. Weight penguin There seems to have been a bunch of threads in here and shows on TV making fun of fat people and now I feel really self-conscious about my weight and really unattractive. This is a danger zone for me because of my previous issues with food so I need to balance my need to shift a few pounds (and I do because my regular clothes are getting a bit small) with the fact that I like the feeling when I don't eat, and my binge eating impulses. Combined with my unhappiness at the moment, it's the perfect conditions for relapse. Anyway, I'm going to try no s again (3 meals a day, but no snacks, no sweets and no seconds except on days beginning with S. . It's worked for me in the past before because it's more like cutting down, there's no calorie counting and I know I get sweets at the weekend (and on birthdays). It doesn't require anything extreme or triggering for me because I don't really have to think about it. End penguin

Ooh I'd love a driverless car. I've always dreams of having my own personal driver on call. Mr CP doesn't count because he complains about driving me places. If like a nice vintage car with a behatted chauffeur on call.

I think I was born in the wrong social class :rotfl:

Also speaking of synths, I'm so annoyed. I downloaded the catch up for the first season, watched about 6 of them, then they were deleted from the planner. Grr.

By the way, Code, I checked with a German friend about what the German for a codemonkey would be, as I wasn't sure about Codeaffe, and she said it would more likely be Programmiereraffe.

Reply to Code I really can sympathise, even though I know that my weight is probably the least important part of who I am I can't help but feel like a massive (no pun intended) failure for not being able to control it.
I also have a wardrobe full of clothes which were mildly too tight when I bought them, thinking that it would be a good incentive, but they're now so far from fitting that it's really not good. I also need to think about wedding dress shopping soon but the very idea of it fills me with utter dread.
Good luck with your 'no S' thing, it sounds like a really good idea and I like the fact that it's not extreme and there's no counting stuff. I know what I'm like and I get too obsessed with making numbers add up if I'm doing points/calories so I try to stick to eating healthily Mon-Fri and then relaxing a bit at the weekend.
    End penguin

I really feel for you and Code.

I can't think of anything worse than waking up and dreading going into work. (((((((((((((((Tea and Code)))))))))))))
