Gentle Hugs Pebbles, what a shock for you! How are you feeling today? What matters is no one was hurt, it is so easy to do with black ice. Be kind to yourself today.
MU! How wonderful to see you! I am so glad that you are ok and things are going so well with Swain. You know you never have to post, you are always welcome to hover but it has made my day that you said hello. I have missed you!
What is Flushed Away and can I watch it? I love slugs!Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Flushed Away is an animated film about a rat who goes down the sewers and finds true love.
The slugs sing and are very sweet.
And yes, it is suitable for you to watch!
If you have catch-up, you could watch it on that.
It was on BBc1 at 10.50 am this morning.(I just lurve spiders!)

Hi MU, lovely to see you posting again
Regarding your penguin, that's the one that has affected me most this year, though for different reasons from yours.

I have made some lovely soup!
I had some free-range chicken legs, so I roasted them two days ago and ate the meat. Then yesterday I boiled up the bones etc. and simmered them for five hours with some lumps of carrot, parsnip and the outer leaves of a cabbage.
I strained off the stock, cooled it, and this morning skimmed off the small amount of fat.
I had loads of red peppers and more parsnips, so I chopped and roasted them, and put some into the stock.
Then I fried some chopped garlic and mushrooms and added those too, together with a leftover dollop of tomato pesto.
I've tasted it cold and it's delish! Am going to eat it later, warmed up!(I just lurve spiders!)

Thank you for the warm welcome back
*hugs and squishes for all!*
I'll be around tonight and tomorrow night. Work wasn;t too bad today actually, got out on time and home now. Swain said we can have a skype partyim not sure what that entails exactly. I've still got the xmas tree up atm, when it comes down i'm keeping all the fairy lights in my room! Its quite ambient in here (for some reason lamps dont work and the main light is too bright)
Your soup sounds yummy PyxisThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
It was!
Roasting the peppers and parsnips caramelises the natural sugars in the veg and gives a lovely flavour to the soup. I never put salt in anything, so I rely on herbs and things like the peppers/parsnips.
A Skype party eh? :rotfl:
Could be vairy eenterresting!
Why don't lamps work? Do you mean, plug into a socket lamps?(I just lurve spiders!)

Not a great day. My dad fell and broke his arm (not your fault WaS). He's 83 so it's a worry. Hopefully that's it for 2016.
I'm in quite a reflective mood - 2016 has been such a doozy of a year and I'm more than ready to let it go, but it's only another day really and who's to say 2017 is going to be any better?
Not a big fan of hogmanay, really - too many people who can't handle their alcohol getting drunk too early - the number of times I've had to look after some random girl I've found in the toilets because they're too drunk and I don't want anything bad to happen to them, pubs that normally beg for business start charging to get in, drinks become more expensive, assuming you can even get to the bar, there are no Cabs to be found and everyone is under pressure to have the best night of their lives and nobody really is. The weather is nasty tonight too. Despite all that, I kind of wish I was going to a fancy party, mostly because I want to wear a ballgown again :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a happy and safe hogmanay and a wonderful new year.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0
