I forgot that it was Christmas jumper day, we normally wear hideous jumpers for Christmas Eve, and it appears that everyone in my office did too as nobody's dressed up.

Code, good luck with the interview/presentation thing. Would prompt cards be a good compromise between reading from a sheet and blanking totally?
I often find that knowing I can refer to notes if needed helps me because then I don't forget things simply because I'm stressed about trying to remember them.
  • Good luck code! :) With you on the social anxiety, doing any kind of presentation fills me with dread and I have to take a list of subjects I want to cover as prompts so I don't forget anything / everything (that happened at university the first time, I stood up and froze).

Good luck code!! Just picture all of team WaS jumping up and down and waving "code is awesome" banners.....unless that's a bit offputting in which case ignore me! :D

Am working from home this morning.... which I have taken to mean 'make a start on the housework so there's enough time in my afternoon off to get ready for my one proper night out of the year'.... not quite in line with the employee handbook but nevermind :D

Phew. It's over with. I got nervous and talked too much, I think I forgot a few things but they seemed quite positive.

I have to say, if they offer me the job, I'll have a dilemma on my hands as the old place has pretty much told me that I'm being considered for a promotion if I go back. The job I interviewed for sounds awesome though, but it's the one with the massive commute.

If they offer it, take it. It won't stop you moving again for a promotion. Very well done, girl!

I got some work-related Xmas cards into the post today. Now onwards with the organising at work.

Luckily a meeting was cancelled because of the other attendee being poorly.

I have given work a good disinfect as so many punters are turning up with germs. (They're probably not that bad really).

Code, if the new job turns out to be just what you want, you won't mind the commute, believe me, especially if they can be flexible about home working.

Code, I agree with WW - if you get offered the new job then take it.

I know that it's a much longer commute but I'd take that over a rubbish job any day - in fact, I travel about an hour and a half each way and have a rubbish job... :D
Generally I don't mind the travel, sometimes getting the chance to sit and read a good book for an hour actually seems like a luxury rather than a chore.

Also, would there be the opportunity to work from home sometimes?

I also wouldn't want to count on "pretty much told me" and "considered". I would fear that they were saying it to get me back and then it would be more of the same old rubbish that made me leave in the first place.

    That was worrying me too.

Ha. Well it's a non issue just now anyway and the more I think about my performance, and the nonsense I talked, I think everyone else they are interview would have to be too total Muppets.

As for the other place, it's kind of an offshoot of a larger company, which runs independently except for HR and IT support. I've spoken to someone in the know who says the job is mine if I want it, but first they need to interview me to tick a box for HR, if that makes any sense. I don't know, it wasn't the best job in the world but at least I know what I'd be getting. Also they have zero air-conditioning and are always really understanding about my pain.

The other job would be an amazing opportunity but I keep wondering what happens if I hate that too?
