Yes, it is indeed that time of year when the need to traumatise that Gitdog in your life becomes overwhelming once more.:rotfl:

DA dog has a similar Christmas jumper but he's not allowed to wear it outside because he likes to roll in mud and go swimming.

I am so fed up, angry and I am in pain and want to go home. 3 hours to go. Why did I leave my old job? It was rubbish but it didn't make me ill.

Gitdog looks like he's humouring you for now but you'll pay for this later :D

Code, can we run away and hide in the fort with DA dog and P cat?

Am working this afternoon and within 5mins of turning my laptop on I was just about ready to slap someone. There's one particular part of my job that I really, really hate (even more than the rest of it) and it's just taking over. I keep trying to explain to my boss about how bad it is but he totally dismisses it all, he's completely not interested. Oh well, at least when I hand my notice in and make it clear that this one aspect of the job is definitely the final straw he won't be able to say he wasn't warned.

I can't even find anything else to apply for. I know it's not the right time of year but it's still making me panic, I really can't stand much more of this.

Know exactly what you mean tea. Let's go and panic together, because the thought of coming back tomorrow is making me so miserable.

  • Both of you, and anyone else with job woes, could look at this way. It's December, so everyone is thinking about Christmas rather than a new job, but it will be the new year soon, so new year, new start, new job, or at least looking for one.

People tend to use the new year as a push to make changes in their lives, so hopefully the job market will pick up for you both then. Not that I know anything about how the job market moves, so that could be nonsense!

  • And you'll probably all think me very silly, but I've been fascinated by the legal arguments around the case in the Supreme court at the moment. Wish I'd taken the week off so I could watch the live stream rather than just read the reporting on news sites.

Try not to worry about it too much tea or think about what you could have done. Hope you pass.

I don't think it's helped me much tbh. I'm actually at the stage where I hope I fail probation so I can just get out. It's so joyless. Other teams have Christmas decorations. There's not as much as a string of tinsel in my team area because that might be fun and not related to work. I hope I infect them all with my cold.

Have you got your own personal mini-tree you could take in to put on your desk? Your 'statement' tree! The Yuletide equivalent of a two-fingered salute?

Are there any forked mini-trees out there? :D

Well, after a lot of procrastination, I made a start on my paperwork, which really just involved making some space on one table, so that I've got somewhere to do the actual paperwork on.

Not that simple, as it meant looking through piles of paper and trying to bin some of it, then putting what couldn't be binned in another pile, to be filed later.

I did manage to put all my bank statements and slips into chronological order, though. They had been in a pile on the table since last December, getting added to each month.

Even though the box file contents are messy, at least the papers that were on the table are now in the right box files.

The next step is to sort out the actual paperwork papers, and put those into separate piles, so that I can see what I'm dealing with, and put them into separate tax years.

Then and only then will I be able to do the expletive expletive expletive expletive paperwork!
The expletive paperwork that I've been 'trying' to do since May!
