Now if my hot water bottle would just stop trampling on my bladder and changing the TV channels with his fat backside, I'd be settled for the evening. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Good morning all! I have missed you!
I think I will back a little more now, I have been working on some things from my past that still influence me, I can't put them here because they are extreme and I would likely be banned, but I am feeling a little better.
Milliefleur is still in hospital. Social services are trying to figure out what to do. The problem on Milliefleur's behalf is at home she won't eat. She says she is not hungry and refuses food. In the hospital she will eat. She already gets meal deliveries at home but still won't eat them, we are wondering if she actually prefers the social activity of a ward despite saying she wants to go home? Also at home she lies in bed every day listening to audio books and says she feels too ill to get up, in hospital they insist she sits in a chair and she chats away to people all day. For now they are working on bringing her weight back back up and then they will figure out what to do next.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Hiya WaS! Welcome back!
Sounds like the Past jumped up and bit you on the bum, but that you've managed to sit on it and squash it!
Bums are good for squashing things!
Gitdog, take note!
Re. Mil, it does sound like she needs the human interaction of a ward/sheltered accom./ home at this point.
I wonder if she would go to a 'convalescent home'? AKA a nursing home?
It's obvious that at home she just gives up now. I'm not surprised, what with BIL having made it obvious he wants to wash his hands of it. She obviously thrives on the company.(I just lurve spiders!)

Hooray for WaS being back.
Hooray for it not raining. (Although I did see seven different rainbows yesterday in a 20 mile trip, which was rather special).
The drawback of millefleur being in hospital is that she may be more likely to catch an infection. I wonder if a respite stay in a care home may get her to see the advantages of having care so that family can come for the social side.

Hi WaS, it's lovely to see you back and I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. Although being in hospital isn't ideal it does sound like Millefleur's coping better there than at home. Hopefully Social Services get a permanent solution sorted out soon.
Elsien, I hope your hot water bottle settled down for a while and let you sleep and that you're feeling better today.0 -

Hey, WaS! Welcome back! She would always like to say,
Why change the past when you can own this day?0 -
Welcome back WaS. DA dog wagged his tail when I told him you were back. It's such a pity about millefleur but not surprising. From what you say, she's very sociable and outgoing so would do well living in group accommodation of some kind - is there something between sheltered accommodation and care home, but I'm guessing it's also very hard to admit that you're not capable of looking after yourself anymore, especially if you've been resisting the idea of getting older.
So, I've been thinking. I have some friends and everything in their lives seems to be easy - they got their dream jobs out of uni, great houses, no fertility problems, never been poor etc. Aside from being jealous, and trying to reassure myself that it might not be that easy behind the scenes, I've been pondering it. Are their lives easy because they expect it will be easy and therefore in a cycle where they are confident because they expect things to work out and the confidence makes it so, or are they just lucky?
