solarjunkie,
I have a high instep. You could have a look at the footglove range in marks and spencer. They are not cheap but they fit me well (I have bigger feet though):heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Good very early morning all!
I need cheering up! Yesterday was a total disaster.
First of all we discovered that the insurance company of the person who hit our car are trying to claim no one was at fault because what actually damaged our car was a bollard that the guy had hit that then flew into the front of our car. Or insurance company are contesting it but for now we will not get the money back for repairs until they get the money which could take 6 months and we have lost our no claims bonus so our insurance is doubled! This is extremely annoying, especially as there were witnesses.
Then I developed a migraine and spent hours being sick and laying in bed in agony trying to sleep it off. I couldn't even keep down the pain medication to treat it.
After this I then decided that I could dish up dinner by myself (why?). I picked up our cast iron frying pan without realising that the handle had been positioned over another lit burner. I walked to the centre of the kitchen and realised I was holding red hot cast iron. By the time I got back to the cooker to put it down it had really burnt me, I have two small blisters on two fingers, a medium sized one on my palm and one giant one down the entire inside of my index finger which has swollen up enormously and really, really hurts. WaSp being sensible always uses an oven glove to pick up the pan but of course I didn't think of it. Why do I try to do anything?
As if this wasn't enough my laptop is breaking. It has loose connections and the monitor is failing which WaSp has bodged for now but it won't last for long. It is so old (bought secondhand 12 years ago) that the casing is rotting and there is rust. I certainly don't have any money for another one so now I am panicking, I already have a credit card bill from paying out for the car and it looks like that money isn't coming back anytime soon. Plus I would really prefer not to get into more debt, I can't afford to pay it off with the interest.
What will I do if I can't get online? It is my only connection to anyone outside of my flat and without a laptop other than WaSp I am completely isolated from everyone, I couldn't even email my doctor or pay my bills. WaSp does have a computer I could borrow sometimes but it is even older than my laptop and awful online. He really only uses it for checking his email and playing his favorite old games offline which is all he needs but it is no good for me who uses a laptop to stay in touch with the world. I have no idea what to do about this at all. Excuse me while I cling to you all, I don't want to disappear from the thread! I am completely panicking, I depend on my laptop for so many different things.

Oh WaS, how awful.
I saw a thread somewhere about bad things all coming together.
Now, the first thing is the car. I always understood that car insurance paid out for repairs, then it was up to the insurance company to recoup from the perpetrator. I don't understand why they say you have to wait for them to get the money from the perpetrator. I would contest that, if I were you. After all, that's why people have insurance.
At the very least, have a good read through your policy.
There's probably a car insurance thread on here where you can get advice.
Now, your laptop. I'm pretty sure that there are charities that could provide you with a reconditioned laptop or computer, possibly one of the mental health charities? Your MH Rottweiler might well know of one. It might be an idea to contact her ASAP about it.
Now, about your finger. The big blister sounds bad, as it's in an awkward place. Don't let it burst. It might be a good idea, if you can bear it, to ring 111 for advice as to whether it needs medical attention. It might not, but it's as well to check.

Hi Waves & smiles,
my freegle/free cycle often has laptops/ computers on there so may be worth checking yours?
If it is broken, a cheap little tablet might be enough for what you use it for?
Google ones are approx £50 ?.

Big big thanks to Niddy, sorely missed from these boards..best cybersupport ever!!0 -
Pyx - lol - if it makes you feel any better........ I am categorically not allowed to paint anything. My hubby or mum dive across a room remove a paintbrush from my hand..........something about being able to spatter paint to the ends of the earth and back. Everyone has their own skills. I will stick to wookwork and electrics..........off to rewire a light switch and move a light socket. ps. loved the minion shed!!!!!
Squishes to all0 -
Thanks, Fly!
I am a whizz at flat-pack furniture, though! I suppose because it's like a puzzle, and I like puzzles!
And things like varnishing stripped furniture, etc.
Oh yes, Pebbles! I never thought of Freegle/Freecycle! That's a good idea! People are always wanting to offload computers when they get a newer model!(I just lurve spiders!)

Morning Shipmates,
Hugs, squishes and handshakes for all that do need them. And tough if you don't you are getting them anyway :rotfl:
Not a lot to say really. SSDD really. And I know I am my own worse enemy and mess stuff up. I swear I do it on purpose as I don't think I am worthy. I know madness.
About a week ago my brother mentioned in passing about keeping a certain day free in April. I asked why Ohh me and my partner are getting married  Nothing like some notice. There is a reason a family member is terminally ill and it does not look good. Hence the rush.
No idea what to wear. I know what I want to but doubt I will be able to fit in to it. Oh well.
I have been around reading etc but just not felt like reply or thanking.
Yours

Calley! We have missed you! Big hugs!
Thank you for the advice, thankfully I think the laptop situation might be solved thanks to a lovely person. The blister on my finger seems to be growing, its like a cushion now! Thank WaS.
I have missed everyone but just feel a bit of fake really being here. I not really had that bad a life. Just seems my issues are down to a few things that have happened here and there. And now I am stuck in a cycle.
Big hugs to everyone
