    I'm an idiot.

Rent is not in fact due until the 15th...for some reason i thought that was tomorrow. Only realized as i was frantically trying to find my contraceptive injection reminder...which i;ve found and is due in 5 days..

My mid is all of a muddle atm. :o

  • Hello folks! I have been reading, but too busy (and stressed with work) to reply. However, it's nice to have a nice bland discussion topic to air views on.....

Drying cups and glasses - a short treatise :rotfl:

Penguin about spiders and animal cruelty

I am horribly emotionally scarred by the day I drank a cup of coffee which proved to have a very large, very drowned (and presumably scalded) spider in it. For this reason I always store cups and glasses (although these are less of a risk because of transparency) upside down, and dry them upside down as well just in case any wildlife fall in. BUT I am conscious that there is a hygiene risk in doing this, as the rim is in contact with whatever surface they are drying on. So my conclusion is that the best way to dry C & G is upside down, in a rack, with a very clean permeable cloth between the rack and the C or G.

Not that I actually bother to do this, but I do suggest this is the best way! :p

Hugs and squishes to all, and yes, I am worried about Pyxis as well xxxxxxx

I'm another one who didn't know that you shouldn't put glasses upside down on a draining board. I don't quite understand how they're going to dry properly the right way up though, surely you'll end up with a puddle of water in the bottom of the glass? I do store them right-way-up in the cupboard though. I don't know what way round I'd store mugs in a cupboard, they're on a mug tree, but I am really fussy about them all facing the same way and, as we have two different colours, they have to alternate...

WaS - I can understand why there are certain things that you miss but you have to do whatever will keep you safe. I think there's a tendency to miss things more if you can't do them rather than you just don't want to. I can quite easily go days without putting the telly on but as soon as someone told me I couldn't watch it it would be the first thing I'd want to do.

Lambyr - as WaS said, there are so many different reasons why she might be visiting. I'd probably presume that she's the kind of person who needs to fill every second of the day and she's using it as a way to kill time. I can sympathise with everything needing to be clean if you know you've got visitors coming. I drives IzHe mad that I tend to go on a cleaning frenzy whenever I know we've got people coming round. His mum's coming to stay this weekend and, despite the fact that I did a full-on clean last week, I still feel the need to scrub everything down before she arrives...

MU - well done for braving the kitchen. It may not have been as necessary as you thought it was but it's still good that you did it. Don't worry about getting your days mixed up, I do things like that all the time and I work very regular hours so I don't even have the excuse of ever-changing shift patterns!
BUT I am conscious that there is a hygiene risk in doing this, as the rim is in contact with whatever surface they are drying on.
Is it wrong to admit that I wash up my drying rack (and washing up bowl) every couple of days?

    !

Think you must be my twin! I'm exactly the same. :rotfl:

I dry my glasses upside down, and it works for me. I have a glass drying mat, and they dry perfectly upside down, but not the other way round.

Lambyr, maybe she wants to get back together with your Uncle?

    Afternoon my Lovelies,

Shout to MIA Flybaby, Pyxis, Melly

Well I was a bit of a plank yesterday. When I went to get the refund for my taps I left my keys at the Customer Services desk. And went for wander around the shop. The sales assistants were looking for Tap lady :rotfl:

I had a bright blue dress on so why I could I have not been the lady in the blue dress :rotfl:

Warm today and not done anything. Oh Phoebe can now open doors. My kitchen and living room doors are on the roller ball type opening. So she knows if she pushes hard enough she can open the door. So no more leaving her out while I am not there!!!!

And just got £20 in morrisons vouchers from a survey site :T Might keep those for later in the year the C word :rotfl:

Need to look at the hoover as it really does need doing. And for some mad reason I am thinking about get another lodger so two of them. The way I look at it is my privacy is gone and one extra bod in the house is nothing really. And fingers crossed he might keep the other one in line and not be such a knob as him.

    Yours

    Calley

    Hi guys,..possible triggers, health stuff

it's been a mixed day.. spent 3/12 hours on phone to halifax to try and sort out the multiple financial mess they left me in which made it look like I'd defaulted on 2 months rent when I hadn't, they got their legal team onto it and halifax admitted fault, and gave me £30 compensation for the stress caused, so that's a relief to ge that sorted. So I can cross that problem off my list, but got some test results back today that show high abnormal markers for heart disease, stroke and cancers so I'm so worried about that, they wouldn't discuss it over the phone so I've got an appnt on sat . I'm not surprised, I do feel so ill and have done for months. It could be related to premature menopause as I went through it at 38 but my old dr refused to put me on it, which has resulted in osteoporosis of my spine, and I didn't realise how important hrt is with premature meno to protect against cardio probs and lots of cancers. So hopefully this change will prevent further damage and alleviate the symptoms a bit. I also didn't realise that if you go through it under 40, the symptoms are loads more severe than if you go through it at the normal age.. I am mad with my old GP for not informing me of the risks as it has cost me my bone density, and I really hope I can halt the hart disease/stroke/cancer risks.. I'm really glad I changed GPs last month, it was needed. Thanks tori for the suggestion of sage, I'll pop to holland and barratt and get some remedies.
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)

I'm glad you sorted thing out with the bank Faerie, sorry that the test results have come back with possibly worrying results. Hopefully the appointment will explain things better and clearer, i'm sorry you may well spend now until saturday worrying though ((hugs)). My nan went through premature menopause and also had osteoporosis :/ hrt didn;t exist back then. I'm not sure if anything can be done to improve bone density (bar possibly upping you calcium/vit d uptake). I hope all goes well for you on saturday xx

I had a crazy plan to stay up all night and get my contraceptive injection tomorrow (my mood is going up...i can feel it), but Swain talked me out of it and suggested i be sensible, get a good nighst sleep on sunday and go monday when its due.

Don;t know if i need to see my gp......i've been sleeping less, have had racing thoughts (and a panic attack the other night cos of them) and seem to have far more energy than usual. I feel like i'm on a poath to hypermania...but ive only seen my old paycb once when i had it and have never been to GO during an episode and am worried they won;t do anything (no idea what they can do bar possibly up my mood stabliser). Not quite bouncing around like Tigger on speed but itcould end up there. paranoia is also getting worse, saw a police car earlier and thought they were after me :o Also started fixating on "sign" like magpies (bad day) and butterflies (good day) and i know thats a sympyom of my hypermania...balls...sorry still typing. Feel like i need to talk but everyone is asleep. Feeling somewhat invincible and its weird and i have a ot of thoughts. My brain is very noisy tonight. Also feel like i need a drink (of the alcoholic variety) thankfully i dnt have any, and even though ive considered wwalking to tesco they stopped serving alcohol at 12am anyway so thats pointless. I'm going to eat some cheese.

Messed up. Staying up all night wouldn't have been a good idea so glad you've decided against that. I'm no expert but it does sound like a visit to the GP is a good idea. Hugs
