  • I agree, MU. Can you get to your GP? I know exactly what you are describing particularly with the rushing thoughts and omens, it happens to me everytime I have a chemical blip and I see my future foretold in everything. Maybe a temporary medication adjustment would help? Have a hug.

JM, I am storing everything upside down! I would never forgive myself if I hurt anything!

Well done on the vouchers, Tap Lady in the Bright Blue Dress! :rotfl:

Don't panic too much Faerie, your menopause isn't actually that early and most people tend to be given the warnings you have been given just as precautions. You should be fine if you take supplements, please don't give yourself something else to worry over, your poor mind has enough. BPD tends to make us worry a lot about our health, particularly if we do have physical conditions like you and I have so we have to be careful not to include them in any current spirals we might be in or we just make ourselves feel worse. Eat that elephant in tiny chunks! Instead be proud of yourself for sorting one less worry off your list! With everything you are going through that's a huge achievement! Well done you! Have a big hug!

MU, hope you manage to get to see your GP today and that they're able to help..... and hope you got some sleep in the end x.

    WaS - how's WaSp doing?

I always dry cups and glasses upside down - how on earth would they dry otherwise?? The draining board and rack are always clean anyway.
  • Morning Tea! How's you today? WaSp is doing much better, just minor stabby pains from the spots now. A few haven't scabbed over yet so he still can't go out or visit Milliefleur but in himself he feels much better!

I, on the other hand feel like a total waste of space that cannot even manage to get over the road to a shop we can see from the living room window to top up supplies. I really need to deal with this going out thing, other than a trip to A&E and a hospital appointment for 2 hours I haven't left the flat since December last year. This is ridiculous and I know it. I'll shut up and go and grump in the fort. :rotfl:

Ah but WaS, we know you'll be here in the fort so you are the glue that brings us all together.

I have been reading the thread.

We still have the decorators in. I am struggling with not being able to be on my own. Littlewing is the same. We are fine in that we can be out and about while the workmen are here, but they are doing long days because they are needing to correct more than we thought from the previous owner who was an enthusiastic bodger.

Hopefully we will be able to pick up some bargain furniture from gumtree today after weeks of looking.

Got flowers and a meal out this week for the help with ER, which was unexpected and lovely.

Got flowers from the decorators* because they had been a bit stressed and wanted to apologise. I hadn't noticed; I told them it was nothing compared to how DH would have been if he had attempted even 1/100th of whatt hey were doing.

*one is female and maybe a little more thoughtful. They are also friends of MIL's fella.

ER's house is being cleared out and she has specified that certain items are going to certain people. So I now have a stash of pretty soaps, and some other things and littlewing has some vintage wooden toys, some of which I have touched up with fresh paint - they weren't valuable.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

WaS, you're very far from a waste of space.

If staying in keeps you safe then it's not ridiculous but if it's bothering you is there anyone you can work through it with?

Hopefully a picture of a sloth with a cuddly toy will help to ungrump you a little bit

  • Awww, look at that sloth! I am ok really, I just get annoyed at myself. This is a bad time of year for me to go out anyway because so many people are around and the nights are light so I can't sneak out in the evening either. What is most annoying is I actually have no problem with being outside, I love being outside! It's people that are the problem, if I had a high walled garden I would be out every day. But no, I live in a flat on a motorway through-road minutes from a town centre. I couldn't have chosen a more populated area if I'd tried! Oh well, I shall try to get out a little in the autumn.

How lovely for you to get a gift for looking after ER so well, whitewing! That is lovely of the builders too! I love vintage wooden toys, they are one of my favourite things. I bet Littlewing loves them!

WaS, I couldn't agree more with the others that you couldn't be a waste of space if you tried! Just look at how many of us on here you keep in check :D

This thread is making me really want a sloth!!
  • WaS, how big is the shop you can see? If it's an "open all hours" sort of little shop, you may be able to arrange to meet the owner with a bottle of milk at a pre arranged time at the door. Not yet, but something to work towards! If it's a bigger place, eg Tescos, they are supposed to be very keen to help in the community, and again, it should be possible to arrange to meet a specified person at a specified time to buy just one item, for a start. All this could probably be arranged online, for the most part.
Alternatively, again probably online, how about contacting the shop with a short shopping list, a brief but genuine explanation that you are both currently physically unable to get to the shop, and a request that it is brought to your door again at a pre arranged time?
In my experience, people are very willing to help if they are not asked to do too much, but what they are asked to do is very specific. If you could get to the door, to collect some shopping you had arranged to be there, how proud would you be? And then at some future time, to go to the door of the shop - even prouder!
Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.

I bought a mattress topper from my local Aldi.

    Silentnight too.

After the weird smell dissipated (probably the reason they were on sale at Aldi), it was fine.

The bed has been 're-comfied' and with earplugs (night shifts) and eyemask (ditto), I sleep really well.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...
