    Thanks :)

The slow cooker is one of the few things I actually use too. Although I've been rubbish at anything other than toast lately, but I did used to use it a lot. I was never very adventurous though, I need to try more things in it.

It's great for just shoving a whole chicken in and not having to worry about when it's done.

This http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/33627/healthy-spicy-chicken-stew.aspx?o_is=LV is our favourite slow cooker meal.

I too need some new recipes as I keep on making the same things. When me and my uncle went on our bike ride the other day, the end of the cycle path came out at a charity shop (he'd planned the route, as we're both fans of chazzas, whereas my Mam and Aunty hate them ;) ), anyhow, I found a slow cooking book for 50p and it's got some lovely sounding recipes to try. :)

I've managed to make myself hungry, tea. Slight problem since I won't be having the pasta until about 11pm! (E's fun work shifts!).

So I'm gonna do myself some vegetable soup with a few croutons and a bread roll. Just put some chicken and croquettes in the oven for mum.

Hope you enjoy your evening out, tea :) And I too do like squidgy chocolate cakes.

It's not quite an appliance graveyard but there's a few appliances that I picked up, mostly on the cheap with the best of intentions and then never really used them.

I think if I managed to get a decent number of slow-cooker friendly recipes together then maybe I'd use it. If I set it going early enough it might save me from my thing where I end up focusing so much on something, forgetting to eat and then suddenly realised I'm really hungry and commence downing two bowls of shredded wheat... :rotfl:

I did however make a pretty damn fine chocolate fudge cake last night, which I've just eaten a slice of. It tastes even better today... although it is very squidgy!
Now I'm hungry too! Feel free to invite me over for a cup of tea and cake :rotfl:

Now that I can get a sponge to rise, I absolutely need get a bit more adventurous with my baking rather than just making cupcakes / muffins all the time.

Well, wasn't keen on the Morocan Tagine, I don't know why, but I wasn't expecting it to be that spicy! I like spicy food, but mild to medium spice, not too hot. I did like the couscous though.

I love baking, lemon drizzle and scones are my specialities! :D

  • I have never had a slow cooker, would it help WaSp and I with meals? Keeping in mind I can't cook without him standing next to me putting something all in one pot and forgetting about it is possibly better and safer. That has got me thinking....

Apparently you can make puddings and cakes in them as well, although I've never tried. :)
