Need calming thoughts :(:( Have absolutely loads to do and just feel paralysed by it, no idea where or how to start. Rationally I'm making lists, prioritising, breaking it down, etc.... but it's not helping this morning. Very tempted to run away from it all!

  • tea, empathy from me, an hour ago I had a "the sky is falling" email from the client that the major project I've been working on for the last 18 months is for, literally a few days before I planned the official release to them (they have been using test versions since the new year), because they have a requirement that was never communicated to us. So loads more work and no time to do it in

Eek ono - why is work such a pain?! I avoided the to do list and went out for lunch for an hour and played with a beautiful baby (of a friend, I didn't just help myself to a stranger!) Which was great - but really hasn't helped with the actual getting stuff done problem.

I feel better than I have all week.

    Good

Car passed its MOT. My brother found me a replacement tyre.

Nearly bought the only full length mirror on the planet that makes me look reasonable (from a charity shop). Saved money by not buying it as we have no where for it to go.

DH finally had a huge clear up at my work and it looks a lot better. I have been getting a little frustrated with his lack of willingness at times

Going to use one of my work shelves at home while I temporarily sort my scrapbooking cupboard so it makes it an exciting, organised project rather than a chaotic mess.

    Not so good

TV is broken - light comes on but nothing else

Food recycling bin blew away in some strong winds. Don't know where it went (didn't have a name on or the neighbours would have returned it. I am sure someone took it in to keep the road safe. DH said he'd sort another one but hasn't, and probably won't)

Can't find any cheap filing cabinets anywhere. Was storing some business stuff in cardboard archive boxes but they collapsed with the weight.

Cold tap in kitchen is not running water. I need the minion maker person on this thread!

    Stuff to do now.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

If only I knew! Anyway have spent the afternoon studying my code and coming up with ideas, so have now sent a suggested solution to the client and waiting for their response.

I like my job for the technical challenges and problem solving, what I don't like is deadlines, and requirements that change in the middle (or at the end!) of a project.

WW, are there any second hand office furniture places where you live? My filing cabinet came from one of them - it looks very second hand, but it works fine.

The blankets sound good to me .
I have a sheepskin type blanket, well the cat thinks she let's me share it!
I know what you mean about meeting people whose work pattern is different.

    By the way why Swain?
I was trying to think of something to call him on here and Swain was suggested, I think it means "young male lover or suitor" seemed apt at the time :)

Pyxis it's purple and it said it was a "waffle" type one, tbh it's more of a throw but it's so soft and comfy I use it as a blanket

Tea hang on in there, you'll get through it, sending positive vibes (((hugs)))

That was the meaning I knew.

    Purple, my favourite colour.

So suggestions for name for my husband on here!:p
Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I don't know where you live but our council gives you the option to order a new bucket from their website, which makes things a lot easier. Also, if/when you get a new one, nail varnish is really good to use to paint your house number on the lid.

Tea and Ono - good luck with the work things. I've been taking on a bit of a different role recently and am so busy that I'm floundering slightly, which is why reading/posting here is such a great use of my time... :D

What's the equivalent in your dialect of King? Then he could be Torry (king)! Or Torking!

Tea, glad you're feeling a bit better. :A

Ono, oh dear. :( I hope they're not blaming you.

whitewing, I use Tippex to paint my house number on my food waste bin. I got it back when it blew away only because I'd tippexed the number on it.
