A person! A person! Hello Flybaby!

I am so jealous that you got to see manatees, they are adorable! I love your "I am not a turtle", that has to be the perfect time to say it. You get maximum points for that!

    Can't wait for the photo's!

I've been on MSE for 9 years now. That has flown. I remain remarkedly ignorant about a lot of financial things considering I have been here pretty much daily and could probably have had time to study for a degree in it!

Great post WaS (again). Yes, I would like you to get out and about more. I always like to hear about your adventures.

We went to the park yesterday and had a lovely time in the sunshine. Today we are having a quiet morning and then afternoon tea at my friend's house.

I hope that you had a lovely day, whitewing!

I have lurked on MSE for 6 years now and have learnt loads about finances. I came here when I had debt and used the site to teach me the best way to pay it off (hence my badges!). The Debt free board and Oldstyle board are a huge source of information on how to make your pennies go further.

Messed.. thank you so much for sharing in your post..PENGUIN to Messed:

I am so sorry to hear about the assault from a guy off the internet.. You are so brave telling us, you really are, especially as you have kept it in for so long. .. That, no doubt must've impacted on your life, patterns with men and trust issues. It's so sad that so many women develop trauma related mental health issues because of sexual abuse when they were young.
It's only when we start talking about it that we see that it is a common thing for women to have a pattern of having sex when they want love. You have all showed such honesty and I am so grateful.. it has made me feel less ashamed of my past , less guilt and shame, and also, less alone, and hopefully, messed, you feel a bit of relief about sharing it.. any time you need to talk.. I'm here.

    Penguin end.

Tory.. I'm so glad to hear that you have a friend to go out with :) Yay :) hopefully it will help you to feel a bit less lonely and low.

    Penguin about suicide:

I got a group text on friday from the PD centre, that one of the members had committed suicide.. I didn't know her, but my friend did, and says it's the 4th suicide in 3 months.. It shook me up getting the text, I think because it brought it home to me what a serious illness BPD is, and how lucky I am to be alive after so many attempts at suicide, and how proud of myself I am for stopping drinking 6 years ago, as alcohol made me more impulsive and more prone to suicide.

.. People think BPD is attention seeking, but it is complex trauma and deep rooted patterns formed from coping from abuse at an early age.. I long for the day when BPD is no longer stigmatised and misunderstood.

    ]
I've been ill all weekend with sinusitis.. I get it badly every month or so, because my nose is collapsing and inoperable, from when I got mugged and attacked when I was 18, I hate it because it triggers the attack trauma .. it sucks :( I've felt really fluey, and been in my bed all weekend, which has been a bit lonely. The antibiotics are kicking in now though, and I'm feeling a bit better.

    penguin end

Big hugs, Faerie. You have every reason to feel shaken and yes, you are correct, BPD is so much more than many people view it as. I don't have words for how gut-wrenching the emotional pain can be at times. I have huge respect for anyone who struggles with it everyday.

I am glad that you feel a little better, we are always here for you if you feel lonely, you never have to feel alone.

Thanks Waves :) It is hard when you read the breakdown of benefit awards.. I'm dreading being switched to PIP.

Tory.. I live near the sea too, but I hardly ever go because it's not good for disability parking.. I do love driving by the sea though .

I'm in the West Midlands, as far from the sea as you can get :).

However, we're also able to get to the North Wales coast within a couple of hours and we have a static caravan home in woodland in Snowdonia, but only three miles from the sea. Beautiful countryside, wonderful mountains, lovely coast. Best of all worlds :)

Yikes indeed hbs, have you had any luck job hunting?

I have a major work related upheaval coming up, in that our employer is trying to sell the business. Some of us have got together and are looking into whether we can make an offer. It's all scary numbers and scary levels of financial committment, way more scary than a mortgage! That's without even thinking about things like the business plan we need to write, a shareholder agreement and all sorts of other stuff before we can think about approaching a bank to ask to borrow huge amounts of money.. Not going to be able to hide behind my computer and quietly wrote code like usual through this one :rotfl:

This  doesn't really do the level of scariness justice!
