    Thanks, Pyxis :)

It does appear that my dad helped quite a lot, even if he is no longer here.

I can only imagine what type of questions I'm gonna get over the next few weeks. Might need to warn E to prepare herself!

I'm actually quite stunned with myself. In just under six months, I've started a casual relationship with my best friend, progressed to an actual relationship with her and now told mum about it.

Maybe I should start planning a wedding! :rotfl:

Might wait a while on that one... :D
She would always like to say,
Why change the past when you can own this day?

Well, if you do, you'll have to have a virtual wedding as well, on here!

    Evening all,

Just had a lovely thank you text from SIL thanking me for her lovely present. Seems to have hit the spot and not added clutter to her home.

Now just need to work out what I get the nephews. I think either vouchers towards days out or stuff like bubble bath. So again no clutter but something to open. And will get used up.

Everyone have a good rest of the evening and an good as you can nights sleep.

    Yours

    Calley

Waves.. thank you so much for your honest message to me :)

I was the same when I was younger, waves.. I can so relate to your post.. I slept with anyone, male and femail, for the same reasons.. sexual abuse teaches you that it's not easy to say no and put boundaries out, especially with our bodies. I also did it because I don't know what a loving relationship was, I wanted to be loved, but sex without love was all I knew. . This is ultra personal, but I'm inspired by your honesty.. .. please don't judge me.. but when I left home at 18 I sold sex for 5 years.in a brothel. It wasn't for drugs, but a means to financially escape from my abusive parents.. I look back now and I honestly don't know how I did it, but I was so used to disassociating during sex, I could numb myself easily. .. It shows me how desperate I was, to choose prostitution over living with my parents.
I did end up using the money to put myself through university, so it all worked out ok in the end, but it was a bleak tome in my life, lonely too, as I didn't tell anyone about it til I had quit.

It took til my last relationship when I was 38, to have loving sex, and to learn to set sexual boundaries.. I've gone the other way now, being asexual and single. I know the sexual abuse from my mum had so much to do with it.. if you can't have boundaries over your body with your own mother, it's pretty hard to learn how to set them. My amazing cPn who I saw for 4 years, helped me to learn to finally set thos boundaries, and I'll be eternally grateful to her.. It seems such a cruel twist of fate to have had my nerves damaged with the bowel perf 5 years ago, after a lifetime of trying to learn what loving sex was., and trying to heal from the abuse..

Thank you so much for sharing that waves.. I know it must've taken so much courage.. You truly are an amazing, inspirational person :)

    Thanks for that, Faerie. :A

No-one's judging you at all. We couldn't, not till we've walked in your shoes.
However, you made something very constructive out of it. You went to University! That's brilliant! Turned it right around!

I'm not actually crying, but I do feel very touched.

    By WaS's honesty
By the way other people responded to this and said it has helped them (and I bet there are hummingbirds out there who understand too
By Lambyr's bravery in coming out to her mum, and her lovely mum - in fact her lovely parents', cos her dad had discussed it as well - understanding
By all the courage and honesty on this thread
By all the courage shown by people reading, who might find it difficult to go on every day, but are coping

Lots and lots of love and squishes from the heart xxxxxx
