Many a school trip I came back absolutely covered in midge bites! :rotfl:

As well as hating sulkers, I also hate those who impart their negativity onto other people. We all have the capability to feel negative now and again, but those who let everyone else know about it....total mood Hoovers!I've never been to Keswick!
Never seen the Lakes either.
Closest I got was on a train to Oban 20+ years ago, so I travelled through Cumbria and saw some scenery from the train, and another time when I went to Carlisle for a music event several years ago.
It's a big omission.
You should try and book yourself a coach trip or something? I think you'd probably enjoy it!
Was it the Sands Centre you went to for your music event?0 -
Code, could you initiate a group meeting and raise these concerns? Ie about the air of negativity having a downer effect?
Did you know that in Rome, they still have SPQR on the iron manhole covers? :rotfl:

Too far to go for a coach trip. It'd have to be a long weekend at least.
Not the Sands Centre. It was a Cathedral music event, so it was mostly based in the Cathedral.(I just lurve spiders!)

Just emailed agency to tell them to go away.
People who organise interviews without letting candidate know who with or where need to go away now.0 -
Bit presumptuous of them melly! That can't be a sustainable business plan - surely you'd end up with loads of no shows and a lot of annoyed clients?!0

Was just in the middle of a conversation about children and found myself trotting out the usual excuses of loving the fact that I can hand back other people's children, that my cat is more than enough trouble etc - technically both true! To be fair I had basically started the conversation (we were talking about how gorgeous a colleague's baby is).
It wasn't as if anyone was being intrusive - was a passing conversation with some people I'd consider friends (well, work friends, but yswim). It didn't even particularly upset me - yes it hurts but it's generally more of a dull ache these days than the stabbing rawness of a few years ago. I think I just feel a bit guilty - as if by saying I don't actually want children it somehow diminishes the ones I lost, and the ones I'll never have.
Meh.... am just rambling now. Was in a funny mood about this anyway after another perfectly innocent comment from someone last night. She knows about the ones I lost, but not the whole situation about IVF, things with FOH, etc. We were talking about mothering sunday services and I said that was one thing I still couldn't face. Can't think how we got onto it now but she later said something about me not having children yet (said in a very lovely, loving way). But knowing it's a never, not a yet, is still hard.
Ok... enough feeling sorry for myself.

Sadly I can't go somewhere else just yet, although working to possibly engineer a move if the promotion in my current team doesn't come off (I have my concerns about a lack of support in that role though). Also can't have a group meeting as it's senior staff who make the decision about promotion and so it would be career suicide.
I know I'm lucky to have a job but it's just so draining. i'm not expecting a team of happy, happy people all the time as I don't work for ceebeebies and that would be creepy.
Melly - how do they expect you to do any interview prep if you have no idea what/who you're prepping for?Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
