So you don't have a link?

Why do you keep on referencing something that you don't have?

    It makes you look foolish.

    Irony....nailed it.

It's not funny at all, people think it's very strange that you refuse to comply with a simple request. It's also not fair to overtake this thread with your pettiness.

all the respect I had for your legal knowledge has now disappeared.

Aw, what a shame. My self worth really rests on what you think of me. I'll have to re-evaluate myself now.

I repeat, I've made my position clear and there is nothing you can say or do to change that position. Pressure won't make me crack.

I will assume then that there is no link and you got it wrong.

I'm hoping that not everyone on this forum behaves the same way as you.

I don't understand why you won't provide a link to a report that would help all us fellow MSEers! It seems like very selfish behaviour :(

I'm wondering if you're one of these internet trolls I read about in the newspapers. I've never seen one before, it's quite exciting :)

Why would I delete a quoted post?
Sorry, I don't know the answer to that one.

    Here's a supplementary question:
Why did you answer my question with another question?

Why did you ignore my first question is more important.
  • Well, I have been waiting (im)patiently to have my tumble dryer repaired with a date of January 2017 given to me. I have received several emails from Indesit offering a tumble dryer at a knock down price. When I received the latest one I saw red. I went onto facebook and left a very scathing message on both the Whirlpool and Indesit facebook pages. Got a message back asking for my contact details and within a week I had my machine repaired. The point was, my previous machine went on fire in October 2014 prior to this all hitting the headlines. I had fallen down steps and hurt my back so couldn't get the machine pulled out of my utility room and luckily my brother came from next door to help me. Otherwise I would have lost my house as we live in the countryside a fair distance from the fire station. I also complained that if my present machine went on fire I couldn't do anything with my bad back and my husband has had 2 recent cancer operations so he wouldn't be too fit either. Anyway, it's fixed now thank goodness - one less thing to worry about. Good luck to everyone else with this problem.

As above, I was given a quite early date initially in March 2015 but was then pushed back and back some more. I went down the angry Facebook post and I had my tumble dryer repaired within 3 weeks. They were professional and it actually involved completely dismantling the machine to replace the back panel.

Another example of a big manufacturer not starting a recall when they first knew about a major fire problem.

As a further note to all of this, if you read reviews of the replacement models that are being offered, there is a stream of 1* reviews on places like Amazon with people complaining that they took up the £59/£99 replacement option and the new machine constantly shows error codes/doesn't work and they've ahd numerous repairs etc done to it (largely saying that the 'sensor dryer' option makes the machine stop whilst the washing is still drenched).

To me that reeks of them basically trying to get money for crappy old models they are about to discontinue. I have an Indesit machine from November 2013 that, in fairness, has worked perfectly the entire time. I don't want one with loads of bells and whistles that don't work or I will never use. The only Indesit condenser you can get on their replacement option (which is the only condenser they offer that has good reviews) is permanently out of stock and only available for home delivery with setup - its a condenser, set up is 'unpack, plug in'.

So I can either buy a crap machine and hope it works, fork out for delivery and installation of a machine that sounds good but is out of stock or wait 8 months (as it stands) for a repair, all the while hoping the machine doesn't catch fire (incidentally, they say that you shouldn't leave the machine unattended whilst on - well if it does catch fire, are they assuming we can all put the fire out with our asbestos hands? If it bursts into flames all I care about is getting my family safe. In that regard its safer to use it when you're out the house!)

Awful companies, selling faulty dangerous products and still trying to make a few quid out of their replacement programme.
