Hello, quick update. After emailing hotpoint customer services again I have been offered a collection and refund on the basis that the dryer is less than 12 months old. If anybody interested in what was sent please pm me.0

I never at any point said that which have a magic wand they can wave to psychically know those figures & statistics. Thats because I paid attention and know that the which report came about after they requested information from manufacturers & government statistics which led to them noticing a higher number of fires for the hotpoint brand (although they stated that as they do not know the market share, they can't say whether the number of fires for hotpoint are disproportionate to other brands).
So which obviously feel the figures are reliable enough if they've started a campaign on the back of them. Either that or which are going for shock journalism rather than fact based and are equally unreliable - which kind of destroys any credibility their investigation has.
But your ignorance really astounds me. I mean who else do you think is going to keep records of how many machines are sold by a particular brand and how exactly would they come by that information?0 -
You are still going on about a Which report, if Which published what you quoted show me the link, or admit you are wrong.
And I've already said I'll provide the links (again) that back up everything I've said when you start providing the ones that have been requested of you.
Rephrasing your request isn't going to result in a different answer. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

You have never provided a link to the Which web site showing the info you quoted. You are losing all your credibility now.
Feel free to prove me wrong.0 -

Credibility judgements from the guy who proclaimed these machines as the fire hazard in peoples homes and thought hotpoint must have known about the fault nearly the entire time because there were fires (despite no evidence that the number of fires is disproportionate to their market share) and that said he's not affected, but if he was he'd buy another brand because he wouldnt feel safe even with the modification (because you know, its only hotpoint tumble dryers that go on fire) :rotfl::rotfl:
Comedy gold you are.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Again, no company would embark on a multi million pound modification programme unless they were really worried.

Where's the link ???????????0 -
Lets say theoretically hotpoints share of fires is not disproportionate to their market share. Theoretically, their machines might be as dangerous as any other brand with this fault but safer without it. Its much better to spend millions in limiting your liability than it is to spend millions in lawsuits and legal fees. We just don't know enough details to accurately speculate, much less state it as true.
But to apply the same logic, surely if they were that dangerous, they'd be compelled to recall and refund/replace rather than being allowed to carry out their voluntary recall repair/replace programme?
Ah yes, me saying your posts are making me laugh is definitely not adult because adults never laugh, especially when faced with absurdity. We are required to be serious and solemn at all times and must never crack a smile. My bad.You keep using that word.
