Yes, Fmess, chilli nearly cooled enough for the fridge. I have since made lovely soup and that too is waiting to be jarred up for the fridge. Especially pleased with my beetroot and celeriac coleslaw as it looks so pretty. I am listening to Motown, cooking up a storm and singing too loudly. Ahem...::o I am determined to be organised this week!If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Yo Turtles
Thought I would drop in to say hello and show my support! Great to see familiar and new faces on the turtle thread and that you are making progress with the debt busting
I have acquired a small but manageable debt after enrolling on a masters course and doing some course related stress spending! But I am trying to follow the rules even though I don't take part in the challenges nowadays
I enjoyed the quotes so much Mothernerd I invested in the book :A
Take care turtles and stay strong!

Xspender - exciting new re house!
mothernerd - I always appreciate new glasses - suddenly everything is so much clearer again!Which reminds me - I have a new prescription, but haven't chosen new frames yet - I must sort that...
dia - much impressed by how organised you were on a Saturday morning!
Spendy day today - paid for swimming lessons for DS2 and DS3 for Summer term (where has this year gone??) and a badge/ certificate for DS3. Also ordered 2 blinds for their bedrooms. Final spends were a trip to Tesc0 to get items not available in ald! - had £8 off £40 spend voucher, so made use of that by buying things like PGT1ps on offer, as I am down to my last box and myself and OH consume a LOT of tea!
Was planning on a long walk today but hurt lower back somehow yesterday and still achey today, so my hips are also hurting as I'm walking a bit funny. I really need to up my exercise though
Rugby later.... (only on tv)

Quote for the day
Don't let your fear of what could happen
make nothing happen.Been feeling a bit stuck this week and realised it's only fear. So for the rest of the month we turtles are going to kick fear's butt.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Sorry so quiet. I'm back at work - feeling fine with that. But then as one thing sorts out something else seems to happen. DH went back to work last week and has gone on a bit of a downer since. He's now decided that it might be best for all concerned if we separate. It's been a tough day because the 15 or so years of anger that he's been keeping towards me all came out. I don't know how it's all ended up being my fault but basically he thinks I'm miserable and uncaring and that we're just making each other miserable. To say I'm a bit stunned is an understatement. I'm trying to just let it wash all over me for now, but I'm in a place where I can't win at the moment. If I say nothing then I'm uncaring, but if I start to say something back then I'm a control freak.
Ah well... There's not much else to say really, my brain won't do anything at the moment. Not giving up

Xspender so glad you have found a house, was gutted for you when last one didn't go ahead.
I got up early as I needed to dye my roots before meeting friend. Roots covered, haircut still awful was so glad friend texted me to say they weren't feeling well I felt shattered.
Cleaned my house and met daughter for lunch. As we are both full of cold shared 1 meal between us, gorgeous home made chicken pie, mash, veg and pot of gravy was brilliant value no way I could eat one whole meal when I wasn't ill. Small spend but nice treat.
Freezer looking empty. Taken last bit of meat out for lunch tomorrow, see how many meals can make out of it.
Greent thanks will freeze red wine I have left. Brilliant suggestions. Wine ice cubes yum.
Feel better now having tidy house, not done much last few weeks and can't relax when place is messy.
Thanks Mothernerd reminded me I need opticians appointment.

doingitanyway beetroot and celeriac coleslaw sounds awesome.
Hi PhoeniX, good luck with the masters and feel free to follow along and comment. So glad you enjoyed the quotes, the book is lovely and stands re-reading.
greent new glasses are great - I managed to read the meter today after DS3 had tried and failed.
ccl just take things one day at a time and feel free to use us to vent or whatever you need.
Calling glad you enjoyed your shared meal.
I have spent money as I needed bread (a compromise again) and remembered the spread was running out. They had sweet potatoes and a reduced celery (18p) so not going to do the big shop for a few days (will need to go when/ before basic toiletry item runs out - probably Monday evening as that is good for ys veg). Will need some more diy materials soon but put off buying for now.
Today I am grateful for my new glasses (a gift every day)
for sweet potatoes - love them mashed with fish and still have quite a few pieces of that left
and for free embroidery (I was given a free kit a couple of weeks ago and have just started doing it in between finishing of a pile of small pieces, thinking about new designs and developing new skills. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
