Quote of the day
When I loved myself enough
I quit settling for too littleHugs for all poorlie turtles and turtle hatchlings.
Greent takeaway as a cut price substitute for a meal out sounds great. belated birthday greetings. i still remember my own toiletrollgate.
calling boo to earache. lovely to hear from your daughter.
Crazy cat lady pizza and ice cream deal sounds great (I have a freezer full of B & J cookie dough, think DS3 is getting it in a deal with his pizza. luckily it doesn't interest me or I would be the size of a house). Congrats on your footwear bargains and it sounds as though work are going to be supportive.
Apple hope you enjoyed the lie in and glad training was good.
Clippy girl good luck with the towel rail hunt.
Thriftylass well done on the child free weekend and getting your OH fully involved.
FunBrum sorry I can't read what I have put - these glasses are really aggravating me now.
Bob great news on the bank charges.
Slow day for me. Irritating cough is back and no energy at all. Went to the library and forgot to check if the charity bin had been emptied and couldn't go back. Brought the washing in, clinging onto the line with one hand at all times. Spent on cough medicine, sucky sweets and apples. Have some sitting down jobs to do if no better tomorrow'
Today I am grateful for crocuses and primulas - lovely displays on the square and by the church, for good books to read and having soup and other suitable food all ready to eat.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Evening all,
SFD number 5 hereor actually it might be 6 now! Not much to report, suddenly had an epiphany today - why do I sleep in the coldest bedroom in the house, when there's only me living here. I think I'm going to trial the back bedroom one day this week, it's always gorgeously warm and it must be even quieter back there as my house backs on to a school. Funny what random things suddenly occur to you!

morning all! :hello:
working from home again today
ruined spend day yesterday as when i went to tesco to get the bread for my guest i picked up some more peppers in tesco as needed them for my vindaloo i'm making today. i was supposed to marinade the meat last night but couldn't be bothered. I am just going to do it in a min and shove in the slow cooker. sure it will still be yummy :drool:
i didn't go and get the towel rail as fancied an evening on the sofa so will pop out and get it at lunch. need to return library books so will pop to local branch and put through letter box as they are not open. not going into the city to go to the big one until next tue so can't wait til then (someone reserved one of the books so can't renew and its overdue).
just about to do my online banking and send sister and friend message with my bank details for the pressie and hotel money.
pretty happy that my only non budgeted spends this month so far have been 65p on crisps and £14 on two guide books:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Thank you everyone for your kind wishes. I haven't had a bout of that for ages. YUK!:(
I feel better now but not 100%, and I have two of my GS' s today whilst their mum gas a bridesmaid dress fitting. Still, they have their snack boxes and iPad/tablets so are fine.
I'm listing more books so when I have a decent stash to send I will post them. More money in the coffers! :money:
One thing about having 'Delhi belly' is I haven't wanted to eat, and being a thrifty turtle, I wasn't concerned with being ill, but how much I can save by not eating! Frugal to the end!! :rotfl:
Tomorrow I'm continuing my sorting quest at my friends house. I'm panicking now as I can see the end of the month n sight and not enough sorting days inbetween! My friend doesn't seem to see how serious this is if the sale of the house completes at the end of this month. I wonder if psychologically, he doesn't want to move. That coupled with him not even finding somewhere to move to, I think I may be right!;)
I have to go now as one of my GS wants me to read him a book. No rest form nanna!:A

Not much to report stayed in office lunchtime so will gather another SFD which will take me to 4/16.
Will hang fire getting petrol until tomorrow as probably need something else by then. Chocolate!
Haven't planned any tea, wish I was more organised. Sure I can find a fish in the freezer or something. like when there is only me to think about.
Fmess love the random thought post. My daughter made me think asking where I sleep in my double bed - sleep on rhs - so why don't I sleep in the middle? No idea why not!
Grateful for
Washing dried overnight on the line

I'm glad you are improved FunBrum.
When we bought our last house the tenant (not owner) was still in there till about 5pm on the day it was supposed to be ours. It was a horrible situation as he was the alcoholic drug addict son of the deceased owner who wasn't even the legal owner then. His brothers had let him stay there until the house was sold. But he couldn't get himself together to move out. The estate agents were going nuts in the end." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Oh my word Bob what nightmare!
I've just spoken to my friend.....who is notorious for putting things off until the last minute.....and I've voiced my concerns. At least today he seems to be bit more pro-active and has priced up storage units. I don't know why I'm worrying about it because it's not me that will be homeless soon, but i think he just thinks, whatever...I will stay a while in a hotel! The house is paid for so when the sale goes through he will be minted! He doesn't plan on buying anything, he's downsizing to a rented flat. That's if he can get his act together!:rotfl:Living a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T
