Deal Breakers in relationships

Can I ask, how do you stand regarding people who, through illness, are no longer able to do things for themselves as they once did?Unable/unwilling to be independent. Including those who cannot do a thing or think for themselves if they can get you to do it
I ask because my increasing disability was certainly a major factor in the breakup of my first marriage (though to be honest, it was doomed from day one if I'd only seen it at the time - 20/20 hindsight is a wonderful thing!)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Does it matter? I mean, like anything in life, it's a personal thing - Unless you are considering a relationship with NBL?0 -
Unlike many men I don't have specific limitations on physical attractiveness. I have preferences but the sort of bloke who tells himself "I only go for slim blondes" or whatever is an idiot.
You are probably correct. I would imagine most men who only fancy slim blondes or whatever know it instinctively. Only an idiot would have to tell himself.0 -
I think we all have an ideal about our perfect match, mines long straight hair, size 10, not to tall maybe 5'5" max, no tattoos, non smoking. That's not something I have sat down and decided it's just something I have noticed over a period of time.
I'm not the tallest guy at 5'9" and the amount of knock backs I got when I was younger because of my height was nuts but that's the girls choice, you don't choose what you like it's just in your dna.
I used to think men were shallow with women but after living with someone for over 10 years and listening to her conversations with friends I think your average woman puts your average guy to shame when it comes to shallow.
Take away the hold me in knickers, the push up bras, makeup, false eyelashes, the heels to cheat their height and a lot of women are not the catch they think they are!0 -
5'9 isn't that short! Most women are well below 5'9.
If you were 5 foot 2 I could maybe understand it being an issue.left the forum due to trolling/other nonsense

Absolutely the wrong way round, as much as it is possible to be!The problem with trying to reason with an atheist (as opposed to a religious person) is that a religious person believes certain things, whereas an atheist knows it all.
Much more difficult to deal with someone who "knows" their version of events to be true than a non-judgemental religious person (which most are) who respects people of all faiths and none.
To a religious person, their 'belief' is knowledge. Several of them on this forum, when proper religious debates were permitted, said exactly that. They 'just know'. That's why you absolutely cannot reason with someone with belief, because that belief, by definition, defies reason. That is also why having a partner with such qualities is a certain no-no.
Atheists deal in proven facts in my experience, which is all about reason. The world is round, it goes round the sun, that sort of thing. That is knowledge that we all know. Belief is something nobody can know, nor can they prove. The usual counter is to say it can't be disproved, but that misses the point completely, as I fear have you on this issue.:dance:We're gonna be alright, dancin' on a Saturday night:dance:0 -
I would be apprehensive of dating any East German woman who won a gold medal in the 1984 olympics.
Apart from that, my arms are wide open.
Guess the bar is quite low.0 -

"The world is round" fact, as opposed to "the world is flat" fact, which is a great example of how facts can and do change.
My grandad never believed in his wildest dreams that you could put a man on the moon. Until they did. Some of our most amazing entrepreneurs have made this world such a progressive place by their open minds. Even religious ones!
I have no problem with people living their lives by facts as they know them. That's their prerogative. Some people however prefer to believe that we have so much more to learn.
I like life that way. Contrary to you thinking that religios people are not confident people, i think its those who feel secure in the confinement of fact who struggle.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
