5'9" is what I think of as tall.I think we all have an ideal about our perfect match, mines long straight hair, size 10, not to tall maybe 5'5" max, no tattoos, non smoking. That's not something I have sat down and decided it's just something I have noticed over a period of time.
I'm not the tallest guy at 5'9" and the amount of knock backs I got when I was younger because of my height was nuts but that's the girls choice, you don't choose what you like it's just in your dna.
I used to think men were shallow with women but after living with someone for over 10 years and listening to her conversations with friends I think your average woman puts your average guy to shame when it comes to shallow.
Take away the hold me in knickers, the push up bras, makeup, false eyelashes, the heels to cheat their height and a lot of women are not the catch they think they are!
I don't use any of the things you mention and many women don'tLost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Indeed.
BUT we currently have a culture of overweight people making excuses for each other.
Women class other fat women as curvy. Men are a bit more honest and will just tell their mate they're fat.
There's a current model that has recently been in a swimwear magazines in the states.
She is a size 14 US, which is a few sizes bigger than a 14 UK
Everyone is saying how amazing she looks ( she is a good looking woman ) but she is actually overweight and quite fat.
There is also the recurring petitions to get '' plus size '' women models on the catwalk.
I don't see anyone complaining that the male models are all muscular and thin though0 -

There's nothing right about 'body shaming', and I don't think people should be put down because of their shape or size.
However, there's nothing wrong with someone saying 'I don't find you/her/X attractive, she is too fat for me'. Nothing at all.0 -

Just disagree with the generalisation, in your experience it may be lower intelligence, but I haven't found that to be the case.
I don't particularly like tattoos though.0 -

But we are getting to the point in the female world where obese, overweight women are making out that it's healthy to be like that.
If you want to be fat, fair enough but don't try and convince others it's healthy or attractive.0 -

I am actually weirdly on the fence, and in agreement with Bob, Gloomanddoom, guest101, Burlington, AND Onlyroz to some extent...
I think it IS hard to lose weight and keep it off - I have lost 3 stone in the past year, and it is hard to do, although I am finding it easier to stay slimmer now I am in the right frame of mind. And I do struggle to fathom how anyone can get to 20 stone plus. And I do wonder how and why they do it to themselves.
Although I do agree that body shaming is not nice, as people need help and support, not ridicule. Thing is though, if I can do it, anyone can!
I now go for walks and go swimming, and eat HALF of what I used to eat, and I have dropped 3 dress sizes (20 to 14.)
When you apply the will to do something, you CAN do it, and you do feel so much better when you lose weight. Your physical and mental health is better, you are healthier, and you look better.
I do agree with Burlington though, that people make excuses for each other, 'fat' is now the new 'curvy,' obesity is celebrated, and you get laid into if you slate someone for being fat, but not if you slate someone for being thin. And I also feel exasperated when people who are very fat try to convince themselves that they are healthy and look good. This is not the case for the majority of very fat people.
So I do see both sides of the 'fat' argument.
I do also think that anyone and everyone has the right to find someone unappealing. I do like taller men (5 ft 8 plus,) but I wouldn't totally dismiss a man only as tall as me (5 ft 4.)
I also don't like tattoos, especially on women. They suit the occasional person, but when pasty middle aged overweight women have them emblazoned on their upper arm or cleavage, it makes me wanna hurl. All that said, I think it's a bit harsh to say it means people are thick! I know some very intelligent people who have tats.Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!
