  • Or Hull, or Manchester? ;). Come to think of it why have the M62 at all?

It is so us Northerners can stand on it and keep the southern wusses out.. and not get our wellies muddy!

In this instance I think I will give the remainder of the northerners the benefit of the doubt, that they do indeed have the high level of brain matter that Southerners possess, that you are the only one silly enough to stand on the M62............For the purpose of the question I would say that anything on a horizontal line joining Sheffield and Chester and above is classed as North. Midlands down the M1 to about Junction 10, and across, the rest is The South.

I totally agree, we are Midlanders. :D

For me (a Midlander) the North starts at the M6 Birmingham junction.:)

    I'm a Midlander and I'm north of that :)

In terms of M6 I'd say junction 18. I live at the start of the m6 and the Midlands extends a good hour or so further north than me.
  • Seeing as Junction 10 of the M1 is Luton, I would definitely not call that part of the Midlands. Junction 15 for Northampton is the furthest south to still be in the Midlands if you see what I mean.
