Nothing's ever straight - forward is it Pete!
Our new FENSA certificate has arrived so I shall be scanning it to the solicitor tomorrow just in case.
Happy world book day, I've spent my day dressed as the Snow Queen from Narnia 😊

I'm sure we all understand the desire to move Tygermoth, just remember that you may want to sell it on in a few years and that other people will be looking at it as it is rather than what it should have being. If you are going to still go ahead you should at least try and get a substantial adjustment in the price.

As far as our news goes, there is some good and some bad...

We have had a fair bit of back and forth with the bank for the mortgage. We already increased our deposit from around £19K to £21K a few weeks ago but they now aren't happy with my OHs income.

She had a pay raise reasonably recently and as she works odd amounts each month her income isn't a set amount. This means they aren't happy she is earning enough (despite the fact that its currently less than our rent!) We've sent this months pay slips over which should mean they have evidence of 6 months at the new rate, figures cross that we get a proper answer from them regarding this tomorrow.

On more positive news, the first floor joists are now installed and they're starting the brickwork on the first floor level. Hopefully this means the place should be ready in July :)
Would your mortgage at 6-7% still be cheaper than rent as this what banks stress test your income on?

6% to 7%? No but it certainly would still be manageable.

I get what you are saying but its hard when you have being saving hard for years and they still question if you can manage it

If you guys are in TW - SE development local to me I have more than just 'options' envy - those houses were WELL outside of my budget range. :D

Not going to agility this weekend

Believe me we didn't want to spend as much as we have ended up, but prices are so crazy. Spending about 70K more than our 'max budget' plus those pricey options. We had planned to spend less which was based on what the mortgage will cost monthly. Oh well.

A bit off topic, I have a young spaniel I did take him to a beginners agility he was really good once he got over his fear of heights and the tunnel. I just couldn't handle him on the lead between runs, he just wanted to bundle the other dogs who all sat there perfectly calm whilst I was dragged about the paddock. What dog do you have?

Still no exchange date, keeping fingers crossed for next week.
Today is one of those days I'm so glad to move away. There's been a fatal stabbing opposite my house. Police, forensics and helicopters everywhere. Terrible.

We went for our usual weekly visit today. All the main work left is inside so nothing really to see but we did get told the completion date has come forward again. It's now the 1st April which was a bit of a shock! Originally the date was June so they'd built in a lot of contingency.

Better get packing I suppose :)

I can only hope mine is early - anything early is less time living with the inlaws! :D Currently heading for 8 weeks there!

Well a pretty quiet week for me on all things house, haven't been for my weekly stalk either as it snowed up here this weekend.

Baxt3r- that's amazing news!! Must say I'm extremely jealous of this !
Would love this to happen 2 us but seen as the roofs not on yet April might be pushing it :)

Haylescom- it sounds awful what happened! Hopefully you'll exchange this week! Everything crossed!

Pete - how frustrating! Have the accepted the evidence you've sent. I never come our with a set amount either as I do overtime, get paid more weekends and evening etc. They must be used to seeing this kind of thing? Especially when u can demonstrate how much you've saved!

Anywhoo I'll get back to pottering about furniture shops, thinking about how much I need to get saving.... Hope next week brings some answers and exchange :)
