'i don't see the point, you wouldn't keep a dog inside 24-7 so why a cat????'
So buy a lead and take it out with the dog. When I married 'Mr Right', nobody told me his first name was 'Always'. ::rotfl:0 -
Well poop is poop at the end of the day, it all requires cleaning.
Yes i choose to own 2 cats and......cats go where they want, i can't control that and im not trying to get out of the fact that they're my cats and therefore i should clean up after them, i would if i could.
I totally understand people being annoyed about having to clean it up, but i can't physically follow my cats around picking up poop afer them.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
For goodness sake, a cat is cat, they're not mean't to be taken for walks for the pure reason of its a CAT......not a dog.
Mine would go mental now if i took away they're freedom in that of the cat flap and kept them inside when i was at work and then got home and took 3 animals out for a walk.
Anyway i'll agree to disagree on this one and wish i probably hadn't tried helping with my suggestion of the cat ornament as i've opened up a can of worms with saying i have cats.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Well maybe you'd go mental if you got a hand full of that disgusting crap that I hwho chooses not to keep animals, find in my garden. When I married 'Mr Right', nobody told me his first name was 'Always'. ::rotfl:0

Get some empty 2l coke bottles (or similar).
Half fill with water
Lay a couple down in the garden
It apparently scares them off as they don't like them?
It's cheap/free, environmentally friendly, you can do it right now and what have you lost if it doesn't work?
Other thing that I found that worked was scattering orange peel. It's eco friendly too."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

So hence they're outside/inside cats and will not use a litter tray anymore. Besides you'd rather me pollute the environment even more and buy that horrid kitty litter.[/quote]
Metaphorically speaking, you don't need to buy cat litter - I have a perfectly good garden for them to use. YOUR CAT – YOUR PROBLEM – don't shove it onto someone else!0 -
I would go mental if i got a handful of cat poop if i didn't care much for cats. Im not saying i wouldn't and time and time again i have said i understand people find it annoying.
Im simply pointing that as a cat owner I would pollute the enviro more (seeing this post is on the green board) with kitty litter so in terms of enviro and this being the green board poop in a garden and then picked up and put in the bin is more helpful to the enviro that kitty litter.
Again i know its my cat and my problem...for goodness sake have i wasted my time typing that i UNDERSTAND.
I don't shove my problem onto someone else, i just can't control it. I don't physically pick my cat up and say here poop in that garden, not your own.
They're solutions, i tried helping with my idea but am getting abuse for being a cat owner. No thanks for the idea, everyone has missed that i actually gave an idea.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

OK diamond - sorry to have given you such a hard time on this subject but I really do not like the way cats (and they really are only part domesticated i know) are allowed to run wild wherever they choose and leave a mess behind for others to clear up.
Also another point - you referred to birds earlier. Well I quite like birds actually and we had a nest in our hedge and watche mum feeding the babies and then their first tentative flights out - and about a week later we found 1 half eaten baby bird in the garden - nice eh?
I know you're not the only cat owner/ defender but a lot of people feel like me.When I married 'Mr Right', nobody told me his first name was 'Always'. ::rotfl:0 -
I have cat poo problems as well. It got so bad at one point, that I had to get rid of all my flower beds.
Where we had bark under the children's swings, the cats crapped there too. So we got rid of the bark and put astroturf down and they even crapped on that.
I don't mind animals, but the reason I don't have any of my own is becuase I don't like the mess they make. So it is a bit annoying having to clean up the mess made by other people's pets.
I used to grow veg in my garden too, but the bare soil was just too tempting for them. So, now I just have one raised bed surrounded by a polythene wall.
I know there is nothing cat owners can do to control where their cats poo, but I think we non cat owners have a right to have a bit of a rant eveery now and then:o .
BTW every deterrent I have tried in thepast has been a waste of time and moneyTwins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0
