You can get proprietary cat repellent but with your daughter wandering around they may not be safe.
Orange and lemon peel and juice and the herb rue are are all supposed to repel cats. Maybe try them?
Call the council and they will put you in contact with who to report the dog to.0 -

I just stumbled across another way to deter cats, or rather their owners. Hit them where it hurts - their wallets. They damage your garden. You retaliate with damage to their interior furnishings. You'd need to be sure it's legal but I don't see why not. Ace!

Some people use cut off plastic bottles with water, dont know if it does the trick or not! Looks a bit tacky!0

strong smells like pepper, citrus peel are supposed to work. i tried the citrus peel and it seemed to work - but then i dug the compost in around the same time and i think the smell from that helped too!Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
